Calling testosterone a “male hormone” is degrading to women. It reduces women’s biology to something “less than”, if strength, drive, energy and libido do not belong.

The truth is women naturally produce progesterone, just like men. Maybe it’s a smaller amount, but it’s part of both male and female physiology, not just males.

When testosterone is seen or heard as something that doesn’t belong to women, it often gets overlooked or dismissed, especially during perimenopause and menopause!

Bowels not moving no matter how much water you chug? Maybe it’s time to review your fruit intake.

Do you know that fruit take is ideally 2-3 servings per day for adults? Some of my clients hardly meet that.

Fruit is a fantastic way to keep those bowels moving, especially when eaten between main meals.

How much fruit are you actually eating right now?

Bloating isn’t always about what or when you’re eating.

One of the most common complaints I see in my clinic in patients who are already eating well - lots of veg and whole foods, fibre and minimal processed foods, yet they still experience debilitating abdominal bloating.

When you experience bloating, it’s usually a sign that something deeper in your gut needs support.

Some of the common underlying drivers I see are
~ low stomach acid
~ gut microbiome imbalances
~ eating when stressed
~ histamine intolerance & gut inflammation

If you experience bloating regularly, it’s worth looking beyond the foods that you’re eating and considering what may be happening within the digestive system itself.

I’ve created a FREE GUIDE that explains this in a lot more detail - “5 hidden causes of bloating (even when you’re eating healthy)

Have you ever experienced symptoms around your menstrual cycle or during ovulation that do not sit well with you?

Endometriosis is a multi system, inflammatory and immune mediated disease rather than a gynecological condition. While it involved endometrial like tissue growing inside the uterus, it can also lead to growth in the bowel, in the oesophagus… even in the bladder.

Whilst surgery and the contraceptive pill is the only conventional option currently, I’m here to tell you that they are both not your only option.

I work with many clients with endo who have transformed their health and symptoms by optimising nutrients, making long lasting changes to their diet and found ways to improve their immunity and prevent inflammation. This is not just the “anti inflammatory diet”.

DM me to find out more about how we can work together.

Did you know that women with endometriosis are three times more likely to have irritable bowel syndrome compared to women without endometriosis?

This highlights the complex relationship between gut health and reproductive health.

If you’re experiencing symptoms such as painful periods or digestive issues, it’s important to speak with a healthcare practitioner that can help you to determine the underlying cause and develop a plan to support you.

I am passionate about supporting women along their health journey and have a special interest in endo.
