Celebrating Courtney – 1 Year with Connecting Dots for Kids❤️

We’re so lucky to be celebrating Courtney’s 1 year anniversary with us✨️
Courtney is an incredibly dedicated and thoughtful Speech Pathologist who brings so much care, skill, and warmth to every session. She has a natural way of connecting with children and families, creating a space where kids feel supported, understood, and genuinely excited to learn.

Her ability to tailor therapy to each child, while making it engaging and meaningful, is something we truly value and we know the families she works with feel the same.

Courtney, thank you for everything you bring to our team. We’re so grateful to have you

💛Heavy Work Activities to Calm the Body💛

Some kids benefit from “heavy work” activities to help them feel grounded, focused, and calm. These activities provide proprioceptive input, which can support self-regulation, attention, and emotional control.

Here are some simple ideas you can try at home:
❤️Pushing a therapy ball – Great for upper body strength and focus.
❤️Wall pushes – Quick, calming, and easy anywhere.
❤️Animal walks – Bear crawls, crab walks, and bunny hops make it fun!
❤️Carrying groceries – Everyday tasks that give calming input while being purposeful.
Incorporating these into play or daily routines helps children stay regulated, confident, and ready to learn.
