forming quicker judgments,
aligning with a position, group, or narrative.

In uncertain conditions, notice the speed at which your perspective narrows.

Whether you practiced daily or dipped in when you could, you’ve taken time to engage with something that supports your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing—and that matters.

There’s a lot in the news at the moment around fuel, cost of living, and broader uncertainty.

You may already be noticing how that’s starting to shape daily decisions — travel, planning, how you use your time.

This is where practice becomes practical.

Not as an escape, but as a way to regulate the nervous system, create a buffer for stress, and stay clear in how you respond.

In our classes, we’re not just moving or relaxing.
We’re building capacity — through witnessing, through being able to pause, and through applying simple yogic techniques in real situations.

Your ability to be with uncertainty, without immediately reacting, is a skill that can be trained.

Our structure supports different levels of commitment — from full term participation through to simpler options.

For those developing a home practice or not always able to attend in person, there are also online pathways — including our 8-week guided program with daily practices and community support, and a more affordable option using recordings from real studio classes.

Checking in on our term break schedule…

Sunrise Yoga — Saturday 11 April, 6:30am ✅
Sound Healing Meditation — Sunday 19 April, 3pm ✅
Nurture (2hr Sound Massage & Restorative Yoga) — Wednesday 29 April, 6:30pm ✅

Everything is in place.

These classes have been chosen to reflect the key elements of our regular terms — yoga, breath, sound, meditation, and deep rest — so there’s something here for everyone.

A few simple opportunities to reconnect — whether you’re one of our regular students enjoying a more spacious rhythm, or someone new wanting to experience a class before committing to a full term.

Each session offers a slightly different entry point, but the intention is the same:
to reset, recalibrate, and return with a clearer sense of energy and direction.

If you’ve been meaning to come back in, or have been curious about what we offer here, this is a really nice window to do that.

Our first group class back after the Easter break is this Saturday’s Sunrise Yoga.

If you’ve been missing your yoga, or simply feel ready to reconnect — with your practice and with the community — this is a beautiful place to begin.

I’m really looking forward to seeing our regular weekend crew again, and welcoming anyone who feels drawn to join us. You can find all of our term break events on our website.

Here we all are practicing Kati Chakrasana together, a simple twist to wake up the body, uplift the energy and help created a positive start to the day.

I’ve also just released a 4-week self-guided online program for the term break. Our new website went live today, and you can find it here:

This next program is a little different. It’s more personal and self-directed, with slightly longer practices and space for your own reflection. There’s no set start date — you can begin whenever it suits you, and you’ll have 4 weeks of access from the time you join.

It’s designed to be simple, flexible, and something you can integrate into your own rhythm.

There is a lot of global instability in the world right now.

This is where your yoga practice, and your connection to your yoga community, can really come to the fore.

The collective nervous system is being shaped by fear and uncertainty. It’s easy to get pulled into that — either by becoming overwhelmed by it, or by turning away from it altogether.

A helpful framework is to focus on keeping your own nervous system regulated within a dysregulated world.

In doing so, you’re less likely to slip into denial or retreat from reality, but you’re also less likely to overload yourself with unnecessary, fear-based rumination. Both of these tend to move us into reaction rather than a more considered response.

Managing your exposure to media becomes important here. So does maintaining a regular home practice of yoga and meditation — not as an escape, but as a way to stay steady and clear.

Connection matters as well. Spending time with your yoga community, or with friends and family who are also trying to live with awareness and balance, can be incredibly supportive — especially if you’re feeling alone.

And it’s important not to feel guilty about finding joy in ordinary moments. Gratitude for the everyday, and a genuine appreciation for nature, are not a denial of what’s happening in the world.

They are part of seeing life more fully.

World events are real. But we aren’t seeing clearly if we forget to live from a place of appreciation and care.

TERM BREAK ONLINE PROGRAM

Whether you’re a studio student or regular online student, there will be something to keep you connected between terms.

I’m working on something that allows you to self-guide your practice, with the option to privately journal your experience and track changes in your physical, mental, and emotional state.

Here’s what’s included:

Receive 4 weeks of access to livestream recordings from real classes at The Yoga Shed. These sessions draw from a range of yoga styles and meditation techniques to support your ongoing growth and wellbeing.

Because these are actual class recordings, they offer a more immersive and authentic way to deepen your home practice.

You’ll also receive a simple, well-structured practice journal to support reflection, help you notice patterns, and build a more consistent relationship with your practice.

Sessions range from 45–60 minutes. Set aside a dedicated space at home, light a candle, and step into the practice.

A simple approach is to aim for one class from each category each week — Sunrise Yoga, Mindful Strength, Unwind & Align, and Sacred Sounds Meditation — creating a balanced, well-rounded practice.

That said, there is no pressure. Any amount of practice contributes to your health and wellbeing, and consistency builds over time.

This is a self-guided program accessed directly through the website. It’s simple to use and not date-dependent — your 4 weeks begins from the time of purchase.

Our Mighty Networks programs will continue to offer a more guided experience with teacher support and student interaction during our 8-week terms.

This self-guided option provides a simpler, more cost-effective way to stay connected to your practice.
