Riverview Lutheran Rest Home is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and experienced Chef or Cook to join our team. We are an established aged care facility committed to providing high-quality, nutritious, and appetising meals that support the wellbeing of our residents.
About the Role:
As our Chef or Cook, you will play a vital role in planning, preparing, and delivering meals that meet dietary requirements and enhance the daily living experience of our residents. You will work closely with kitchen staff, clinical teams, and management to ensure meals are served safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines, menu plans, and resident needs
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness
Assist with menu planning, including specialised diets and texture-modified meals
Work collaboratively with the care team to support resident health and preferences
Ensure stock control, ordering, and food storage comply with all regulations
Provide a warm, positive dining experience for residents
About You:
Qualified Chef or Cook with experience in commercial or aged care kitchens
Knowledge of dietary requirements for older adults (desirable but not essential)
Strong understanding of food safety standards and HACCP procedures
Reliable, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Compassionate, patient, and committed to the wellbeing of residents
