🎂 Yesterday was my birthday, and in true self-employed style I took the day off. Coffee date ✅ massage ✅ then… instant regret. I was so dehydrated I couldn’t even drive, so Mum had to chauffeur me around all afternoon. Classic Emma move.
Did I then recover sensibly? Of course not. I went to the pub for dinner, had a few drinks, and another sneaky wine at home. Let’s just say… my body was not impressed.
👉 Why am I oversharing? Because it’s the perfect reminder: our bodies need water before and after any treatment. It’s the number one rule, and I completely ignored it. Cue the crash.
So, if you ever feel rough after seeing me (or any other therapist), remember—it’s not the treatment making you feel horrible. It’s usually dehydration or skipping those little aftercare steps. We therapists hear it all the time, but it really comes down to giving your body what it needs to process the session.
💧 Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate—before and after your treatment. Trust me, your body will thank you (and you won’t need to call your mum for a lift!).

PRICE UPDATE – Effective 1st July
As much as I love what I do and truly wish I could offer every treatment for free, we all know that’s not the world we live in. Like many small businesses, rising costs mean I need to adjust my pricing slightly to continue offering the level of care and service you deserve.
From 1st July, my new treatment prices will be:
Bowen Therapy – $100
Bowen + Kinesiology – $110
Myofascial Cupping – $110
Children’s Bowen – $80
Children’s Bowen + Kinesiology – $100

Last night, I went to the RESILIENCE Project at the Chaffey Theatre, and I left feeling so uplifted. One of the key messages was the GEM principle: Gratitude, Empathy, and Mindfulness. Such a simple but powerful reminder.
They also shared three things proven to help lift your mood when you're feeling low:

🏃♀️ Exercise
And I thought… hey, I’ve already got some of these covered in my space:
– Relaxation music is always playing (and I get so many lovely compliments on it)
– There’s no shortage of laughs around here — that’s therapy on its own!
– And while I might not get you running laps, physical touch through Bowen and Kinesiology can help your body and mind reset.
It was just one of those reminders that looking after our mental health doesn’t have to be big or complicated — little, intentional steps go a long way.
