Hi I am Domenic and I am a passionate remedial massage therapists, I provide remedial massage to address your presenting muscular and joint pain and associated discomfort. Hi for most of you who do not know me my name is Domenic, I have been a massage therapist since 2007 but it's only been my full-time profession since 2017, amazing how time fly's.⁣

In-between those years I was mainly working in our family business located in Luddenham, whilst providing a mobile massage service part time.⁣

My parents, sisters and I have run and managed the family business in luddenham since 1972 and is ongoing at the present. After leaving High school I tried many different fields of study from travel consultant to hairdressing, though I never progressed into any of those fields I value and treasure the skills I have learnt along the way.⁣

My massage career was influenced by one of my sisters who encouraged me to pursue this career after helping her on many occasions to relive her neck and shoulder tension that also seemed to relive those pesky tension headaches she was experiencing.⁣

I have personally experienced amazing results with massage therapy in the past, one time in particular when I was about five, I sprained my ankle and the next morning my father had to carry me as I could not put any weight on my foot, so my father took me to a massage therapist who I had now idea of back then, though miraculously I walked out of his clinic after a single treatment a bit of a miracle or magic hands, I think.⁣

Massage has supported me in many ways from reliving Sciatica, headaches, shoulder pain and managing my stress and anxiety making life so much more manageable.⁣

Through my own personal experiences of receiving regular therapeutic massage treatments over the years, I am so happy to be able to provide my unique approach of massage therapy to you.⁣

How to tell if massage is actually helping your body, not just making you feel good.

What I often notice is this…

it’s not always how you feel straight after your treatment.

It’s what you start to notice in the days that follow.

You may start to feel a little more comfortable walking, getting up, or moving around.

You begin to notice less tightness in the areas that have been bothering you.

Sometimes it’s subtle.

But over time, those small changes can make a difference in how you move in your day-to-day routine.

That’s when you know it’s not just about feeling good in the moment…

it’s about your body responding.

Some for something new thats proped up and some for relaxation/maintenance 🙌

I am learning that alot of your healing throughout the treatment comes from feeling safe and trusting the process ✨️

Not every treatment has 100% results though we build on that with each session

If you're saying things like im walking better, im able to get dressed easier, I'm sleeping better, I can get through my day with more comfortably

Then that is a heartfelt joy and happiness for you 💙

But what I also notice is this…

Because we’ve worked on your back and shoulders as part of those treatments, you begin to feel a new sense of freedom in your upper body as well.

I see this quite a lot with new clients.

Over the past 8 weeks, I’ve been consistent with walking.

It’s become part of my morning routine now — something I genuinely enjoy. It gives me time to reflect on what I’m grateful for.

I’ve noticed I have more energy throughout the day, I’m able to focus more, and my sleep has improved as well.

There have been days here and there where I’ve felt too tired, especially if I’ve done a bit too much the day before — and that’s okay. I’ll take a break and do something else constructive with that time.

What I realised early on was that walking would help with my back pain — and if I wanted to feel better and continue doing this work as a massage therapist, I needed to do something about it.

This morning it’s raining, so instead of walking I’ll focus on my strength exercises and catch up on some admin.

I’m sharing this as a reminder that the things we don’t always feel like doing can often be the ones that help the most — as long as we meet ourselves where we’re at and don’t push beyond what feels right.

I understand life gets busy, and sometimes doing the thing that will help can feel overwhelming or just too much (I feel that at times too). But I’ve been surprised how this small adjustment and commitment has helped me.

Massage is so much more than relaxation 😌

Its a time to reset, a feeling of being grounded, a so called weight of your shoulders

To feel lighter + calm an active mind

Support for your nervous system to feel cared for to switch off and rest

Also a time to soothe tension being held in our bodies an opportunity to move and flow throughout your day and support a restful nights sleep 😴

Recently I had a massage for some shoulder and arm pain.

The therapist was good, however the pressure was a little too firm and the pace of the treatment felt slightly rushed.

During the massage I started noticing something interesting happening in my body. My muscles began guarding and my breathing became shallow. At times I even noticed myself holding my breath.

My nervous system didn’t feel completely safe, so my body naturally went into protection mode.

I left the session feeling okay, however the next day both of my arms where the massage was performed were quite sore and tender. That can be normal too, however I’m talking about the overall experience and the effects massage can have on our nervous system, and how effective it can be when the balance between pressure and safety is right.

It reminded me of something important about massage.

Pressure can be helpful, however it only works well when the body feels safe enough to receive it.

Firm pressure can absolutely be effective, but it needs to stay within a range where the nervous system doesn’t feel the need to guard or defend itself.

Good treatment isn’t about how hard the pressure is, it’s about how well the body can receive it.

These are the foundations that help me live, function, and show up at my best  both personally and professionally.

What works for me may not suit everyone, but I truly believe having solid foundations makes navigating life a whole lot steadier.

On the weekend I started looking for a new rug for the clinic — it feels like the current one has served its purpose in time.

But as I looked around, I realised… maybe it’s more than just the rug.

New flooring. Floating shelves. A narrower unit. A feature artwork. Maybe even a wallpapered wall.

I am just exploring what’s possible.

For now, I made one small change:
I swapped my qualification frames from black to white ▪️▫️

And honestly? It’s already softened the space. It has a softer feel

This has reminded me that small changes can shift how you feel in a big way.

When your environment feels aligned, your mind feels less cluttered.

If the bigger updates happen, I’ll share them here, and you’ll see them when you walk into the clinic.

As someone who encourages movement and body awareness, it was confronting to be the one managing persistent back pain.

What shifted things wasn’t anything extreme,it was walking. Regularly. Consistently.

It’s improved my pain, but it’s also helped my focus and structure.

Setting time aside.

Sticking to it. Starting again when needed.

Life will always interrupt.

Progress doesn’t require perfection

Just willingness to begin.

You’ve got to start somewhere.
