Not all injuries progress at the same pace. In some cases, photobiomodulation (PBM), also known as red light therapy, may be used as an adjunct to rehabilitation as part of an individualised care plan.
Potential applications may include supporting comfort, helping manage symptom-related barriers to movement, and complementing physiotherapy or exercise-based rehabilitation where clinically indicated.
At our clinic, PBM is applied using a targeted, dose-specific approach based on the presentation, stage of recovery, and treatment goals.
Potential goals may include:
โข supporting participation in rehabilitation
โข helping manage pain or swelling where appropriate
โข complementing a broader recovery plan
PBM is not suitable for every injury or every stage of recovery. A clinical assessment helps determine whether it is appropriate for your situation.
