Aged care workers who are close contacts of COVID-19 cases could be rostered back at work with no isolation period as families express frustration that rising case numbers will leave loved ones in endless facility lockdowns.

Federal government data shows there are more than 1180 COVID-positive aged care residents across Australia, including more than 550 each in NSW and Victoria.

Our respect and support for our resident's faiths and beliefs make ISOMER Aged Care Facility a place of peace, joy and true friendships. Our religious considerations include food preparation, food types exclusions, and the convenience of facilities such as prayer rooms and places of worship close by.

While ISOMER may be the acronym for the Islamic Society of Melbourne Eastern Region, our home could really be mistaken for a mini-United Nations, with staff and residents coming from diverse cultures, religions and ethnic backgrounds. It’s this type of environment that truly makes our home like no other.

We place a very strong emphasis on the enjoyment, engagement and mental stimulation of our residents.

From bingo to field trips, from exercise classes to karaoke, residents are encouraged to interact and to keep mentally and physically active. Our weekly programs include morning and afternoon tea, newspaper discussions, physical and tabletop games, crafts and bingo. We have visiting entertainers, outings,

gardening, library visits, film afternoons and reminiscence therapy. All residents' birthdays and significant dates are celebrated. All are aimed at boosting residents' self-esteem and providing an opportunity for self-expression. Individual time is offered for hand massages, wheelchair walks and conversation.

All our residents enjoy meals prepared to the highest possible standards, according to a carefully prepared menu plan.

Helmed by a qualified chef and supported by dedicated catering staff, our kitchen delivers residents delicious and nutritious home-style meals. Our kitchen also caters for special dietary needs, as well as any requirements associated with the ingredients and preparation of religious sensitive meals.

Meals are consistently scheduled throughout the day, with the flexibility to also cater for special occasions, or our residents need as required. Our open and comfortable meals area accommodates our residents comfortably whilst overlooking our beautifully manicured courtyard and bird aviary.
