There are a few places where I feel deeply connected to myself, and the forest 🌲 is one of them. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but yesterday, as soon as my feet touched the ground between the row of pines, I dropped in—grounded to the earth and to myself.
Immediately, tears began to flow, and a wave of sadness came over me. I honoured the moment, allowing whatever needed to clear to move through me. And just like that, it passed—the quickest I’ve ever processed an emotion. It simply flowed in and out, leaving me free to continue my beautiful stroll through the forest.
Not long after, nature called— quite literally. One of my tell-tale signs that I’ve processed something: I gotta go! 💩 NOT HERE, NEVER HAVE I EVER! As I contemplated my options, I realised pine needles poking my butt 🍑 was not an experience I was keen on. Surrounded by them, I thought, C’mon, there’s gotta be another tree with leaves here somewhere!
Alas, I found one. And, with a forward apology to the tree for what felt like blasphemy to its leaves 🌿I did what needed to be done.
So yeah, true story that one!
Just like my spontaneous, raw moment in the forest, you might find that the best way to process your emotions is to simply give them space to be felt and released. Whether it’s in nature, during a quiet moment at home, screaming along to music in your car, dancing or whatever works for you—your process is yours.
It’s about discovering what helps you move through emotions, feeling them, knowing when you’ve truly processed them, and feeling lighter on the other side 😉. If you’re unsure how to navigate that, I’m here to help.
Cheers, Elo ✨✨
