Come and join our team!

Our current myotherapist Caitlin is off on maternity leave soon and we need someone to take her place. We have clients wait listed to get in. You will be working alongside chiropractors and Chinese medicine practitioners with lots of cross referrals and reception support.

If you are a qualified myotherapist or remedial massage therapist we would love to hear from you. We need you to fill at least 15-20 hours a week with potential for more as your practice grows. This is an ongoing position and won’t be just covering maternity leave.

Case report time.

A patient presented to the clinic with a painful ankle. History of ankle fusion with instrumentation placement a couple of years prior.
The patient displayed extremely limited range of motion throughout the foot, not just the fused portion of the ankle (tibiotalar joint).
The area of constant pain and discomfort was actually not in the fused area, just everywhere else!
The xray image shown is very similar to what the patient presented with (this is not the patient's image). Due to the loss of normal flexion of the foot, the next joint/s down the line were loaded abnormally and a hinge point was created. The result was primarily a fixation (joint stuck, range of motion reduced) of the joint indicated by the red arrow, among others.
Post treatment the patient immediately felt less pain and discomfort and an increase in range of motion in the foot.
Subsequent treatments working further down and around the foot/ankle yielded yet more results.

Patients often ask "is this in your wheelhouse?"

These kinds of common complaints whether they be shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee or ankle/foot are definitely in my wheelhouse!

Extremity conditions (such as Knee, shoulder, ankle, wrist etc.) often present to the clinic and are mentioned as a side complaint or by observation by the treating practitioner.
If you have an extremity complaint, we may be able to assist you!
Some examples that we routinely see and treat with success include the following:
Knee pain, ankle pain, carpal tunnell syndrome, shoulder pain, toes!, tennis elbow, golfers elbow and hip pain (with the hip, typically a rotation fixation is present, which has a knock on effect to the Knee and ankle)
