I attended a sound healing session this evening. The session tapped into the multifaceted โselfโ, how to better understand the competing needs within and how to build Self Trustโฆ It got me thinking ๐ฅ
In the world of business, the trail of broken dreams and abandoned ideas is long and winding. I have been on the entrepreneurial journey for almost 30 years. I have been part of some amazing ideas, wins, awards and recognition (not all mine) but after some reflection I now realise I donโt trust myself ๐ซถ๐ป
๐ป๐ ๐ช๐ ๐ฆ ๐ค๐ฅ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐๐๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ค๐ฅ ๐ช๐ ๐ฆ๐ฃ๐ค๐๐๐?
I have a lot to learn but tonight I felt some clarity. I know for me to build trust that I need to clear the past to make way for the new.
Below is a high-level mixed bag of business ideas that have led me to where I am today:
๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ฎ ๐๐๐ฎ ๐ฅ๐๐ค๐ฅ๐ก๐ - I did a pitch of my idea to a Chanel 7 producer and it ended up becoming a segment on Sunrise
๐๐๐ ๐พ๐ค๐ฃ๐๐๐จ๐จ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐๐ก - I did a pitch to an advertising company - I didnโt have the money to invest in my idea - it ended up becoming a segment on MTV
๐๐๐๐ค๐ค ๐๐ค๐ฅ๐๐ - very early internet days when you needed to write code for a website. I paid a fortune to get the website up and running but I couldnโt afford the ongoing website maintenance or figure out the code I needed for the site to be interactive. Early adopter of technology, I had the idea of putting your 'secret life' out on this thing called 'the internet' for people to read, comment on etc but the idea was that people could remain anonymous if they wanted to

๐ช๐๐๐ - personalised journals before journalling was a โthingโ
๐ผ๐ฃ๐๐๐ง๐๐ก๐จ - a gorgeous line of lingerie that was related to 'animal spirit'
๐๐ช๐ง๐๐๐ฏ๐ - adult pureed food, texture modified, prepared in moulds to look like the food that was being eaten i.e. peas, chicken breast, carrots etc. I was accepted on to a government grant program and also won a scholarship award for Nutrition and Dietetics. With the scholarship money I ended up going off to do post grad business study. I had many conversations with big food companies about the adult pureed food sector and this was eventually commercialised (not by me).
A business partner and I decided that there was so much opportunity in Hong Kong and China, I went to Hong Kong & China to explore the complex world of importing products and selling online. One of our favourite ideas was scooters and collapsible bikes, and to set up an online shop specialising in adult toys (this was 15 years ago), it was still early days with technology and I just couldnโt get my head around it all. We dissolved the company ๐ฅฒ
'They' say that most businesses come about because there is a problem or pain experienced by someone and then that someone works out how to solve the problem or pain and then there is a realisation that other people must be struggling with the same or similar problem and BOOM now you have a new business. The businesses below are based on me solving some problems and wanting to help โฌ๏ธ
๐พ๐ค๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐พ๐ค๐ฃ๐ซ๐๐ง๐จ๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ๐จ - coaching people who were trying to manage the physical problem of incontinence, but dealing with the emotional and mental overwhelm of feeling alone, isolated, angry, losing trust with their body, lack of connection, depression, anxiety etc which can compound into other issues for example poor gut health.
๐๐๐ก๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ฉ๐ - The business evolved and became about healing, understanding, how to build trust and forgiveness with self, lifestyle, holistic health etc. How to prepare for pre and postnatal life.
๐๐ฃ๐๐ค๐ง๐ ๐๐๐๐ - The business evolved for women who put everyone else first, women who had lost confidence in themselves, women who had sat on the sideline of life for too long. Women who wanted to find themselves, step into their power and live strong: 50, 60, 70 and beyond. I actually love this business. It is taking so much from all the earlier business iterations and evolving.
๐๐๐ ๐ฝ๐ค๐ช๐ฃ๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐พ๐ค. - previously Wildheart Juice. Wildheart Juice wasnโt my passion or calling. Many of you now know that I bought the business with the intention to keep my son safe. Wildheart Juice evolved and changed as I was changing.
This past 12 months has been one of the most difficult years of my life and yet I felt I needed to show up, to compartmentalise, to come up with ideas, get creative and I did that with the intention of helping those of you who are now part of The Bounty community.
I now know that The Bounty business is a hybrid. Itโs an evolution of my past business ideas. Most of my ideas are connection and people based, achieving dreams that move people to action, the sense of tribe, well-being, feeling strongโฆ a movement. I keep thinking about stopping, but I can see the future so clearly.
Life is a game, whoever refuses to play gets left on the sideline and this is something that I do not want for anyone. Life can be hard, painful and scary but the alternative of stopping scares me because that would mean no growth, no abundance, a lack of vitality, 'existence' and more than likely diminished health.
Each idea, no matter how brilliant or bad, has its own unique set of challengesโ within every business you can almost feel the struggle and failure, here lies a profound lesson: innovation and progress are born from perseverance.
The path to success is often paved with the remnants of dreams that didnโt come true, but it's those very failures that shape and refine the future.
So, to every broken dream and every failed business idea, they are the silent architects of the businesses that we see around us everywhere today.
I have a dream to support people to get off the sideline of life and live a Bountyโful life but after 25+ years technology is still my nemesis but I refuse to quit ๐
I will get online, there will be products, retreats (with a difference) and a Bounty'ful Life for all.
