Increased Sitting Time Tied to Smaller Brain and Cognitive Decline in Older Adults
A recent study published in the Jornal of Alzheimer's Association suggests increased sedentary time was associated with greater neurodegeneration and worse cognitive performance. Participants in this research were over 60 years, sedentary for an average of 13 hrs a day and studied over a seven year period.
Unfortunately, research also suggested achieving the recommended 150 mins of exercise a week was not be enough if the rest of your day is sitting!
