KD Plan Management would Like to announce that NDIS has just released the new Guidelines for STA “Short Term Accommodation” now called STR “Short Term Respite”

As always your friendly KD Plan Management Team are here for you if you have any questions.

Short term accommodation is now called short term respite.

We spoke with participants, families and carers about this change. Most told us that short term respite better reflects the value of informal supports and the importance of sustaining these relationships.

We know some people have concerns about the word ‘respite’, but many carers and families use and understand it well. After considering all the feedback, we chose this name because it’s clear and widely recognised.

Short term respite gives you time away from your usual care arrangements, while your primary informal supports take a short break.

We’ve updated Our Guideline to make it easier for you to understand and use. It explains:

✅ who can use short term respite

✅ what it includes

✅ how it works

✅ where it can be used.

📣 The updated NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits for 2024–25 are now live!

These updates reflect the latest Annual Pricing Review recommendations and aim to help participants and providers better understand how pricing decisions are made.

We’ve also made some additional changes, including:
✅ Increasing the early childhood age limit from 7 to 9 years
✅ Clearer guidance on provider responsibilities and how to manage conflicts of interest

These changes take effect from 1 July 2025.
