👶✨ Meet Anna – The Incredible Paediatric Physiotherapist ✨👶

We’re so excited to welcome Anna from to our clinic at Women’s Health Physio Mackay!

With years of experience working in paediatrics, Anna has supported countless infants and children with a wide range of developmental conditions. She brings a calm, confident and compassionate approach to therapy, backed by extensive post-graduate training and a deep understanding of childhood development.

Her areas of expertise include:
• packaging disorders in babies (think tight necks, flat heads)
• babies with developmental delays
• neurological and genetic disorders
• musculoskeletal concerns in children

Anna is passionate about helping every child thrive in their own unique way — supporting families through early development, play-based FUNctional therapy, and meaningful movement.

Her dream?

Next week is World Breastfeeding Week. This sits close to my heart, having experienced many highs and lows on my own breastfeeding journeys.

Did you know paediatric physiotherapists can work with your lactaction consultant for more successful breasfeeding outcomes?

After being packaged snug inside mum, babies can have body restrictions which can significantly affect their positioning and comfort for latching. Some clues baby might have these body restrictions include:
- head preference to one side
- preference to one breast
- breastfeeding on one side is more painful
- they were in a 'less ideal' position in utero for a prolonged period eg. posterior, breech.

Often times a mumma is doing everything right, but there are baby factors which need to be resolved for the two to make a successful breasfeeding duo, and physiotherapy for your baby can help, as part of a team approach.

Petite Physiotherapy is running a monthly clinic to 'Carry with Confidence' for a free fit check of your baby carrier - ideal for those new to baby wearing. Why get a fit check?
- Mum is uncomfortable/getting pain
- Baby is uncomfortable or not settling in the carrier
- Baby is identified with packaging concerns such as risk of hip dysplasia or torticollis.
