Earlier this month, we had the honour of being invited to speak at VIEW Club Mackay's Christmas in Jul-EYE meeting.

VIEW stands for Voice, Interests, and Education of Women, and their role in the community is underpinned by their support of The Smith Family - a national charity that helps children in need with their education.

These beautiful ladies made us feel very welcome and we hope they enjoyed learning a bit more about the importance of regular eye checks!

Cover your left eye and stare at the cross - slowly move your phone closer…What happens to the dot?

There’s a small area on your retina - where the optic nerve exits - that has no light-detecting cells. If an image happens to focus right on that spot, it simply disappears. That’s your blind spot.

Your brain is pretty clever - it fills in the blank using surrounding details, so you never notice the missing piece in everyday life.
