Today, we pause to honour the tiny lives gone too soon and stand alongside the families who carry them in their hearts every day. 🦋

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day is a time to acknowledge the grief, the love, and the enduring strength of parents and families.

Tonight, many across the world will light a candle at 7pm as part of the Wave of Light. 🕯️ You’re welcome to join in, remembering and honouring babies gone too soon.

We also recognise that today can be a very difficult day for many. If you need support, please know you don’t have to walk this journey alone.

For those new on our socials, Meet Dr. Ritu Rana ✨

Hi, I’m Dr. Ritu Rana, an OB-GYN and Fertility Treatment Specialist here in Mackay. 💕

👩‍⚕️ My journey began with seven years of obstetrics and gynaecology training in Yorkshire, UK, where I cared for women with high-risk pregnancies in NHS hospitals in Leeds & Bradford. Along the way, I developed a passion for minimally invasive gynaecology (laparoscopic & hysteroscopic surgery) and gained valuable experience in managing complex conditions like endometriosis and gynaecological cancers.

✨ I also completed a fellowship in reproductive medicine at the Leeds Centre of Reproductive Medicine, UK, where I was part of a team performing over 2000 IVF cycles. This experience allows me to support couples with a wide range of fertility treatments, including IUI, IVF, and ICSI.

💖 The most exciting moment in my work? Seeing the joy on a couple’s face when they see their baby’s heartbeat for the very first time.

Every woman’s journey is unique, and my goal is to provide compassionate, personalised care—whether you’re planning a pregnancy, navigating fertility challenges, or managing gynaecological health. 🩷🩷🩷
