We have a teenager in our house…

Our beautiful old boy is 13 today and I still look at him and see his sweet, puppy face 🐶

He made me a mum before I had 2 legged kids and I’ve loved him longer than I’ve known my husband, so to say he is pretty special is an understatement 💜

Poor fella has to share my attention now, but is also super loved by Mister 3 and Miss 1 who have requested we make him a cake this afternoon because it’s obviously not a birthday without cake 🧁 if anyone has an easy recipe, help me out!

Hey fellow Mackay Mums 👋

Are you looking for a flexible way to fill your teacher cup while also still having plenty of time to be a present mum?

We have the perfect role for you at Absolutely 4 Kids as one of our valued tutors. 👩🏫

You can just about choose whatever hours suit you and your family (we're extra keen to talk to anyone available Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons). We even have opportunities for mums with partners who work week on/week off to tutor fortnightly!

The planning involved for you will be minimal as we've taken care of most of the big stuff, so you need only to make tweaks for your specific students. We provide all the resources as well, so no staying up late laminating and cutting out games required 😆

You'll work with small groups of 6 Kindergarten aged children building foundational skills in...

This role is super flexible with the option to grow your hours as the program grows (if you choose to) and some ability to work from home for added flexibility. Our sessions run on weekday mornings and we are ideally looking for someone for Monday, Tuesday or Thursday morning.

It is so important for children to talk and communicate their feelings to support their emotional regulation and self-development.

📚 We’re keeping up with our wombat theme again this week with ‘Wombat Goes to School’ as we prepare our School Readiness learners for Prep next year!

During our School Readiness sessions, we had some great discussions during this book about what else we could add to our own Wombat Stew!

This timeless story helps children explore rhyming words, sequencing, and storytelling, which is why it’s our Book of The Week this week in our School Readiness sessions.

Did you know that stories with rhyme and repetition, like ‘The Gruffalo’, help children develop phonemic awareness. This is an essential skill for early reading and language development!
