🥗 There’s a NEW food pyramid… and it’s very different from what many of us grew up with.

The original USDA food pyramid (remember the massive base of bread, pasta & cereal?) is officially old news.

👉 The new nutrition model shifts the focus to:
• 🍗 Protein (animal & plant)
• 🥑 Healthy fats
• 🥦 Vegetables & fruit
• 🥛 Quality dairy

⬇️ With less emphasis on grains
🚫 And a stronger message to limit ultra-processed foods and added sugars

⚠️ That said, this still isn’t for everyone.
People with food sensitivities, allergies, gut issues, autoimmune conditions, or hormonal imbalances often need individualised nutrition beyond any pyramid or plate model.

✨ But here’s the interesting part…
This shift is what many health professionals have been advocating for decades, whole foods, better protein intake, healthier fats, and fewer processed carbs.

💭 Some people feel validated
💭 Others feel confused
💭 And some know firsthand that personalised nutrition matters more than any guideline 💯💯💯

👇 What do YOU think of the new food pyramid?

🌿 Your gut does so much more than digest food 🌿

Inside your gut lives a community of trillions of microorganisms, your microbiome 🦠
And they influence far more than just digestion.

In fact, your gut plays a powerful role in:
• ⚡ Energy levels
• 🧠 Mood and mental clarity
• 🛡️ Immune function
• 🔥 Inflammation
• 🔄 Hormone balance

🧠 The gut–brain connection is real
Around 90% of serotonin (a key mood-regulating neurotransmitter) is produced in the gut, not the brain.

When the gut is inflamed or imbalanced, it can contribute to:
• Low mood or anxiety
• Brain fog
• Fatigue
• Poor stress tolerance
• Food sensitivities

🌱 A healthy microbiome supports energy and mood by:
• Improving nutrient absorption (iron, B vitamins, magnesium)
• Supporting stable blood sugar
• Reducing systemic inflammation
• Producing short-chain fatty acids that fuel gut and brain cells
• Communicating with the nervous system via the vagus nerve

⚠️ Modern life can disrupt the microbiome
Stress, poor sleep, ultra-processed foods, medications (including antibiotics), restrictive dieting, and chronic inflammation can all reduce microbial diversity.

When diversity drops, symptoms often rise.

✨ Gut health isn’t about perfection or probiotics alone,
It’s about creating the right environment for beneficial microbes to thrive.

Support looks like:
• Eating a diverse range of whole foods 🥗
• Prioritising fibre and plant variety 🌈
• Supporting digestion (not just what you eat, but how you eat)
• Managing stress and nervous system load 🌿
• Addressing inflammation and food reactions
• Personalised support when needed

🌼

If you’re tired, flat, or struggling with mood, your gut may be asking for support, not restriction.

Your gut isn’t separate from your health,
👉 it’s central to it.

🔍 Have you ever searched the internet with questions like these?
• “What blood tests should I ask for?”
• “Which blood test shows everything?”
• “What does this result mean?”
• “Is this level normal… or optimal?”

You’re not alone, these are some of the most searched health questions online right now 💻🩸

And it makes sense.
People want answers. They want clarity. They want to understand their body.

Here’s the gentle truth 💛
🧠 Interpreting bloodwork isn’t as simple as reading a range on a page.

📊 Blood results don’t exist in isolation
“Normal” ranges are based on population averages, not personalised health.

Results need to be interpreted in context of:
• Symptoms and how you actually feel
• Age, s*x, and life stage
• Stress and nervous system load
• Hormones, metabolism, and inflammation
• Patterns across markers, not just one number

✨ This is where professional bloodwork analysis becomes powerful
It’s not about diagnosing, it’s about understanding.

🌿 The benefits of professional analysis:
• Seeing connections, not just numbers
• Identifying subtle imbalances early
• Understanding why your body is responding the way it is
• Creating targeted, personalised support
• Less guessing. Less Googling. More confidence 🧠✔️

🧬 And then there’s DNA…
DNA testing adds invaluable insight into how your body is designed to function.

Your genetics can help explain:
• Detoxification capacity
• Nutrient needs
• Inflammation and oxidative stress tendencies
• Stress and exercise response
• Why one-size-fits-all plans don’t work for you

DNA doesn’t determine your destiny,
👉 it informs your strategy.

Bloodwork gives us a snapshot.
DNA gives us the blueprint.
Together, they help us work with your body, not against it.

🌱
If you’ve ever had blood results and felt confused, dismissed, or unsure what to do next, you don’t need more tests or more Googling.

You may just need someone to help you interpret the story your body is already telling.

💬 If this resonates, I offer personalised bloodwork analysis and optional DNA testing to help you gain clarity, direction, and confidence in your health journey.

✨ Let’s talk about “realistic weight and why BMI misses the point ✨

If you’ve ever felt like your body is fighting you when you try to lose weight…
You’re not broken. And it’s not a willpower issue. 🧠💛

🔢 BMI isn’t a great measure of health
It only looks at height vs weight, nothing else.
It doesn’t account for:
• 💪 Muscle vs fat
• 🔄 Hormones, age, or life stage
• 🧬 Metabolic health or inflammation
• 🧠 Stress, burnout, or nervous system load

BMI measures mass, not health.

⚖️ Your body has a “safe” or defended weight range
rather than one perfect number, your body tends to maintain a range where it feels safe enough to function well.

When the body feels safe, it supports:
• Stable energy ⚡
• Hormonal balance 🔄
• Better sleep 💤
• Clearer thinking 🧠
• Sustainable weight regulation

When weight drops too fast, or below what feels safe, the body switches into protection mode:
• Slower metabolism
• More hunger and food noise
• Higher stress hormones
• Fat loss resistance

That’s not failure, that’s biology doing its job.

🌱 Realistic weight isn’t about “giving up”.
It’s the weight your body can maintain without extremes, restriction, or constant mental battle.

And here’s the hopeful part 👇
You don’t force your body into a lower weight…
👉 You help it feel safe enough to go there.

Safety is built through:
• Consistent nourishment 🥗
• Nervous system regulation 🌿
• Sleep and recovery 😴
• Muscle and metabolic support 💪
• Addressing hormones, inflammation, and stress

✨ Reframe this:

Your healthiest weight is the one your body doesn’t have to fight to stay at.

This is where sustainable change begins — not from punishment, but from support 🤍

Where do I belong?
Honestly… I still question that. A lot.

Most days, I don’t really know, and I’m learning to be okay with that. I’m always changing. My energy shifts, my focus shifts, my capacity shifts. So it makes sense that the people, places, and energies that align with me change too 🌊

It’s never been about labels or fitting neatly into something fixed. It’s about energy. The energy of certain people on certain days, at certain moments, when our frequencies line up.

Some days I feel good. Open. In sync with everyone around me. ✨
Other days, I don’t. And on those days, I can feel it happening, some people naturally drift further away while others come closer.

I know that can be confusing. I know it can be felt, by me and those around me.
And still… it’s not intentional. It’s alignment.

I’m also very goal focused, day to day. My mind is often locked in on where I’m going. I can walk or drive past someone I know and genuinely not realise. It’s not me being ignorant or dismissive, it’s never intentional. It’s just me being deeply in my own lane 🎯

And even saying all of this, I still question myself.
Because I was conditioned to be polite. To notice everyone. To please everyone. To never make anyone feel unseen or uncomfortable, even if it meant abandoning my own rhythm.

So unlearning is not clean or easy.
There’s a constant pull between who I was taught to be and who I actually am.

I’m learning that it’s okay to protect my energy.
That it’s okay to not always be available.
That pushing away what doesn’t align in a moment isn’t being mean or unkind, it’s necessary…for me.

We all do this subconsciously. We adjust. We pull back. We lean in. We respond to energy before words🌙

I’m still questioning. Still observing. Still tuning in.
I’m still trusting my conditioning more than my intuition. I’m working hard on my intuition.

And maybe belonging isn’t about fitting everywhere.
Maybe it’s about being honest about where I’m aligned, right now💫

✨ “We all have the same 24 hours.”
⏰ “Be part of the 5am club.”
🛏️ “Just make your bed.”
💪 “Discipline equals freedom.”
🔥 “If you wanted it badly enough, you’d make it happen.”

These phrases are everywhere 📣
And yes, they can inspire action… for some people.

But here’s the part that rarely gets acknowledged 👇

We may all have the same number of hours,
but we do not have the same capacity, energy, nervous systems, responsibilities, hormones, stress loads, or health challenges 🧠⚡🫀

If you’re:
• running on empty 😮‍💨
• chronically fatigued 🪫
• hormonally depleted 🔄
• emotionally overloaded 💔
• mentally burnt out 🧠💭
• carrying invisible stress or trauma 🎒

…how on earth are you supposed to “just wake up earlier” or “push harder” and be compared to someone whose body is functioning optimally?

This is me saying: I see you 🤍
You’re not lazy 🚫
You’re not unmotivated 🚫
And you’re not failing 🚫

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do isn’t waking up at 5am ⏰
it’s supporting your body so you actually have the energy to live your life 🌿✨

Because health comes first 🫶
Before productivity hacks 📈
Before comparison 👀
Before catchy quotes 🧾

When your body is supported,
action becomes possible, not forced 🌱

And that’s where real, sustainable change begins ✨💛

If you’re tired of forcing yourself to “do more” and ready to support your health first 🌿

Every year, mainstream news tends to amplify flu and respiratory illness stories, often leaning heavily into fear-based messaging. While awareness is important, exaggeration creates unnecessary stress — and chronic stress is one of the biggest immune suppressors.

The focus doesn’t need to be fear. It needs to be calm, informed, and empowered action. 🌿✨

First and foremost in my immune support routine:
I am activated by NRF2 technology, this is my foundation. 🧬
Activating NRF2 supports the body’s own antioxidant and detox pathways, helping the immune system respond more efficiently at a cellular level. For me, this is non-negotiable.

Additional evidence-backed immune support includes:
• Elderberry 🍇 Research suggests it can shorten flu symptoms by several days.
• Vitamin D ☀️ Especially critical in winter; optimal levels are linked to lower respiratory infection risk.
• Vitamin C 🍊 Daily intake supports immune function and may reduce symptom duration.
• Zinc 💊 Most effective when started early to help inhibit viral replication.

Lifestyle essentials that truly matter:
• Regular handwashing and surface cleaning 🧼
• Quality sleep, hydration, whole-food nutrition, and stress regulation 💤🥗💧
• Daily movement, exercise, and fresh air 🌳🚶‍♀️
• Masks are not helpful for immune health long-term and can be compromising, as they may trap moisture and bacteria

This approach keeps me feeling strong, grounded, and prepared every year, without fear running the show 💛
Your body is designed to protect you when you support it intentionally.

Stay calm. Stay empowered.

✨ Want support strengthening your immune system from the inside out?
I help people identify why their immune system is struggling and create a personalised, functional plan to support it at a cellular level, without fear, extremes, or guesswork.

💬 DM me “IMMUNE” or book a complimentary consult to explore what your body may be asking for right now.

Calm. Informed. Empowered health. 💛
Because your body works best when it’s supported intentionally.

You might already have a New Year goal in mind.
Maybe it’s just a glimpse of an idea 💭
Maybe it feels solid 💪
You’ve decided. This is the year.
But pause for a moment 👀
📝 Is your plan written down?
⚠️ Have you identified the obstacles that usually throw you off course?
🔄 Do you know how you’ll get back on track when life happens?
📊 How will you know you’re making progress?
🔧 And once you reach your goal, how will you maintain it?
This is where so many New Year goals stall or fizzle out.
Not because of motivation, but because there’s no structure.

☀️NRF2 ACTIVATION: What I introduced my mum to, and why I don’t treat it casually ✨

NRF2 activation isn’t a wellness trend.
It’s a master regulatory pathway your body uses to defend itself against oxidative stress, inflammation, and cellular damage 🧬

It’s how your body decides whether cells adapt and repair… or slowly accumulate damage over time.

❌ Low NRF2 activity is linked with:
• accelerated biological aging
• cognitive decline
• chronic inflammation
• mitochondrial dysfunction
• impaired insulin sensitivity
• reduced cellular resilience

👏🏽 Healthy NRF2 activation supports:
• healthier aging & longevity
• brain and cognitive resilience 🧠
• neuroprotection
• improved mitochondrial efficiency ⚡️
• reduced oxidative stress
• better metabolic flexibility

📌 Brain & Nervous System Support
NRF2 plays a key role in protecting brain cells, reducing neuro-inflammation, and supporting learning and memory.
This is why it’s studied in conditions like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, brain injury, and age-related cognitive decline.

📌 Mitochondria & Oxidative Stress
NRF2 switches on your body’s own antioxidant systems, including glutathione.

Translation?
Your cells don’t just make energy, they become better at handling stress and damage.

And aging isn’t about low energy alone.
It’s about whether repair can keep up with life.

📌 Inflammation, Metabolism & Vascular Health
NRF2 helps calm inflammatory pathways, support insulin sensitivity, and protect blood vessels and vital organs.

Less noise.
Cleaner signalling.
More resilient aging 🌱

✨ Why I introduced my mum to NRF2 activation

Not because she’s broken.
Not because she’s declining.
But because her body has been through a lot — including two TBIs — and she deserves every opportunity to support resilience, repair, and long-term brain health.

And honestly… this isn’t just for her.
Supporting the body at a cellular level matters whether you’re navigating health challenges or you simply want to protect your brain, energy, and longevity for the years ahead.

But because preserving function is always easier than trying to restore it later.

Longevity isn’t about chasing disease.
It’s about supporting the systems that keep us sharp, mobile, and independent for as long as possible 💛

🤍 If you’re curious about how NRF2 activation supports your body at a cellular level, I’m always happy to have a conversation.

Yesterday I finally got to experience the wellness centre at Fitness Cartel ✨
Compression boots ➝ hot rock sauna ➝ showers ➝ hot pools ➝ and then back again for another round. It was deeply relaxing and I feel so good afterward 😌🧖‍♀️

I skipped the 6–8°C cold pool, and that’s okay ❄️🚫 While cold pools can offer great benefits like reducing inflammation, supporting muscle recovery, and boosting circulation, they’re not for everyone at every moment. Some days your body needs warmth, calm, and gentle recovery instead of a shock to the system. Listening to your body is part of true wellness 🤍

Recovery looks different every day, and yesterday, this was exactly what I needed ✨

Well that’s Christmas 2025 done! 🎄✨

Only a couple of photos this year, with this one showing what it’s really all about…
Mess 🎁 wrapping 🎀 presents 🎉 excitement 🤍 love 🫶 sharing 🍽️ food 🥂 celebration 🎄 connection ✨
All the best things in life, right here.

A little lesson learned in the lead up this year… get back to being more organised earlier! 😅
I had so much to do in the last few days and cramming it all in was stressful – definitely not my usual organised self 🙃

That said, while my many trips to Caneland Shopping Centre were a bit of a proverbial pain 🛍️😆, running into beautiful friends and having quick catch-ups along the way was actually pretty amazing 💛

Wishing my family, friends, clients – and the world – a beautiful Christmas 🎄
No matter what you’re doing or where you are, I hope you can find joy in the day ✨🤍
