On Friday the 18th of July, our community was devastated by the loss of three young adults.

Donald and our Podiatry Mackay family would like to acknowledge the passing of Liam Doumergue, a beloved son of Rebecca D, nephew to Julie and friend to us all.

Liam brought a light to us all, and he will be remembered for his warm, caring nature, his cheerful hellos at our office doors and cheeky smile as he filled us in on his latest adventures since finishing school.

To Rebecca, Neil, Grace and Nicolas, you are in our thoughts constantly.

Our clinic remains open as per usual, however as we have all been impacted by these tragic circumstances, please be considerate as we navigate this difficult time and support our team as best we know how.

We appreciate your patience and kindness.

Update: Medicare Chronic Care Referral Changes
Medicare has updated the Chronic Care referral process (formerly Enhanced Primary Care-EPC/Team Care Arrangement-TCA).
Podiatry Mackay will no longer routinely bulk bill our patients who have a Medicare Referral. Payment is now required at the time of your visit, and it's the patient’s responsibility to manage their allocated visits.
If your referral is current and visits are available, you will be able to claim the Medicare Rebate at the time of your visit.
Please speak with your GP about the new Chronic Care Managment Plan (GPCCMP) procedure and how to register for My Medicare.

Do you love to paint your nails? Do you wear nail polish on your toes to hide your nail's funny colour?
It is possible that your nail polish is the cause of the discolouration. Nail polish can encourage the growth of unwanted fungal infection.

If this sounds like you, we recommend going for a period of time without polish to allow your nails to recover. If in doubt come and have a chat with our podiatrists in clinic.
