There comes a time in some women’s lives,
When they give life to another.
But not only does she birth a child,
She also births a mother.

A woman who once lived to work,
To achieve, succeed and strive.
And now she measures her success,
By watching her child thrive.

A woman who once loved to shop,
To pamper, preen and pay.
And now she simply loves to stop,
And watch her child play.

A woman who once did not care,
For cuddles, feeds or mess.
She now embraces little things,
And has learnt to worry less.

A woman who once cared too much,
Of what other people thought.
Now puts her focus on her child,
And the lessons to be taught.

A woman who once loved to travel,
To places near and far.
Now places her heart with her child,
And knows her home is where they are.

A woman who once knew herself,
Not just a daughter, friend or wife.
Must now make room for another self,
Readjusting her whole life.

Others do not know the truth,
It is only her, they see.
But this journey involves one more...
The child, the mother and me.

A minute with LOUISE, Mum to baby Jack and the authentic soul of Create Evoke - Lou Lethbridge.

I don't scroll past a video on Lou's page. Just the sound of her voice calms me, and there always seems to be a 'drop' of something I needed to learn or be reminded of. Happy first Mothers Day Lou and may you get to reading a few extra chapters this weekend x

💧What's your bedtime ritual?
A shower or bath if I can get away with it, PJ's, soda water by the bed and the diffuser on. Sometimes if its an early one I'll read a chapter or two.

💧What book are you reading?
I have about 10 on the go at once! There's a mountain of books I'm halfway through on my bedside table.

💧King or queen bed?
Queen until 4 weeks ago... now in a king and there'll be no going back, EVER!

💧Sleep in or breakfast in bed?
Sleep in for sure (and if its not pushing it, a coffee in bed too!)

💧Night owl or early riser? If I get the choice, early riser, but not if its been a late night. I'm hopeless with even the slightest of sleep deprivation!

Infant sleep is one of the top reasons that parents seek professional medical help. Research reveals one in three children have sleep problems across birth to five years, and how important it is to establish good sleeping behaviour in children.

If you are interested in evidence-based sleep advice, send me a message today.

To read more, the Australian government funded, not-for-profit raisingchildren.net.au gives an excellent summary of infant sleep and development. Findings of brilliant research conducted in Australia, are documented here:

CELEBRATING LOVE

How soon after focusing on a sleep regime/program for your children, were you able to reclaim time to yourself, or for conversation, affection or romance with your Valentine? Was it before two weeks was up? Night 1, 2...or 3?

If you're falling victim to the daily parenting grind, preoccupied on your littlest sweethearts, to acknowledge eachother's contributions, offer praise and complements, or plan special occasions, then please message me for a two-week long sleep program tailored to your family.

New research finds adequate sleep may minimise the impact of many childhood behavioural problems.

A study led by the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) and the University of Melbourne, found that inadequate sleep was associated with internalised social and emotional as well as externalised conduct and hyperactivity problems. Having these problems was also associated with a lack of sleep.
