🍼 Tiny Tastes: Starting Solids at 6+ Months!

Is your little one ready to join the dinner table? At 6 months, most babies are ready to explore flavours beyond milk. The goal? High-iron wins and easy-to-digest textures!

Here are 6 starter foods to kick off your baby’s culinary journey safely:

🥣 1. Iron-Fortified Cereal
Babies' iron stores start to dip around 6 months. Mix iron-fortified rice or oat cereal with breast milk or formula for a familiar taste.

🥑 2. Mashed Avocado
Nature’s "fast food"! It’s packed with healthy fats for brain development and has a perfect creamy texture.

🍠 3. Pureed Sweet Potato
A crowd favourite thanks to its natural sweetness and Vitamin A content.

🍳 4. Soft Scrambled Eggs
Eggs are a nutritional powerhouse (iron, protein, and choline).

🍌 5. Mashed Banana
Easy to take on the go and naturally sweet.

🥕 6. Steamed & Mashed Carrots
Rich in beta-carotene and easy on the tummy.

🍪☕ We’re All About the Snacks Around Here… ☕🍓

If you’ve been to Maggie Moo, you’ll know one thing for certain…
No one leaves hungry 😌

Nikko and I take turns baking bikkies and slices (because homemade just hits different).

We always have:
🍪 Fresh bikkies or slice
🧸 Baby rice crackers
🥨 Small snack packs
🍓 Fruit
🫖 Cold water and juice
🥛 A range of milks
☕ Tea, coffee (because some people leave the house without one… imagine that!)

Some little ones just need a small snack and drink to keep their momentum going.
Some mums need something sweet to regulate after a big morning.
Some dads need caffeine to survive.

We do our best to provide egg-free and dairy-free options where possible, and everything is there for you.

🧼✨ Keeping The Moo Room Clean & Safe ✨🐮

With a few common childhood viruses circulating in town, we thought we’d share a little behind-the-scenes of how I keep our space fresh and safe for your little ones 🤍

After each and every session we:

🫧 Wash toys and equipment in hot soapy water
🧴 Disinfect high-touch surfaces
☀️ Sun-dry toys and fabrics wherever possible
🧺 Wash dress-ups, fabrics and soft items regularly
🚪 Sanitise door handles, taps, tables, chairs, walls, bins, mirrors (you name it)

Throughout sessions we:
✨ Spray and wipe high-touch areas
✨ Remove any mouthed toys immediately for cleaning
✨ Refresh sensory stations

All baby Moo Music Classes have their own basket of instruments, scarves, props ect I have intentionally purchased bulk items so that sharing is kept to a minimum (this sets us apart from other music classes and playgroups!)

We also ask families to keep little ones home when unwell and offer credits whenever I can— it helps protect our whole Moo community 💛

Clean, calm and full of love — always.

💜 Moo Minding 💜

Friday 27th February
9am-11am

A little time for you… with so much love for them.
Moo Minding is our 2-hour care session where your baby is nurtured, played with and cared for right here in our own safe, familiar space.
✨ A small, cosy room
✨ Calm activities, play and games
✨ One-on-one attention in a very small group
✨ Experienced, qualified educators who already know your little one
While you shop, prep dinner, get our hair done, enjoy lunch, get a coffee in peace (or just sit in the car and breathe 😌), you can do so knowing your most precious being is being lovingly cared for.
No rush. No guilt.

Just a little time for you — and a whole lot of care for them 🤍

Moo Music is a music, movement and connection-based class for babies and toddlers — designed to be just as lovely for parents as it is for little ones.

In each session we:
🎶 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒈 (lots of repetition, actions and simple lyrics babies love)

🕺 𝙈𝒐𝙫𝒆 𝒐𝙪𝒓 𝒃𝙤𝒅𝙞𝒆𝙨 – bouncing, rocking, clapping, dancing and exploring movement together

🥁 𝙀𝒙𝙥𝒍𝙤𝒓𝙚 𝙞𝒏𝙨𝒕𝙧𝒖𝙢𝒆𝙣𝒕𝙨 & 𝙥𝒓𝙤𝒑𝙨– shakers, drums, scarves, ribbons and sensory items

🗣️ 𝑺𝙪𝒑𝙥𝒐𝙧𝒕 𝒍𝙖𝒏𝙜𝒖𝙖𝒈𝙚 𝙙𝒆𝙫𝒆𝙡𝒐𝙥𝒎𝙚𝒏𝙩 through rhythm, repetition and playful interaction

👶 𝑬𝙣𝒄𝙤𝒖𝙧𝒂𝙜𝒆 𝒃𝙤𝒏𝙙𝒊𝙣𝒈 – you and your child sharing special moments together

There’s no pressure to perform, no expectations to “do it right”, and no judgement if your baby cries, feeds, wriggles or just watches from your arms.

Some babies join in straight away, others observe quietly — both are perfect.

We finish with a calm wind-down (and usually bubbles ✨), leaving little ones regulated and parents feeling like “okay… I did something really good today.”
