Shoulder Mobility Transformation

One of my recent clients came in with a significant limitation in shoulder flexion—particularly on the left side, where he was unable to raise his arm fully overhead (see left photo). This was caused by a combination of myofascial restrictions, muscle hypertonicity, and possible adhesive patterns across key muscle groups involved in shoulder movement.

After a thorough assessment, I targeted the following structures:
Latissimus dorsi, Teres major, Posterior deltoid, Infraspinatus, Subscapularis, Upper trapezius and levator scapulae

These muscles were contributing to dysfunctional scapulohumeral rhythm and shoulder elevation.

Treatment Approach:
👉🏻Dry Needling: Released deep myofascial trigger points, especially around the posterior cuff and scapular stabilisers.
👉🏻Cupping Therapy: Helped decompress and increase blood flow to restricted fascia (see circular markings on the right image).
👉🏻Graston Technique: Used instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization to break up adhesions and promote mobility.
👉🏻Deep Tissue Remedial Massage: Integrated to calm the nervous system and reset muscle tone.

Just one session later (right photo), his left shoulder regained overhead range with improved symmetry and ease showing the power of combining evidence based manual therapy techniques.
