Huge shout out to Typan Racing who are participating in the finale of the Cliffhanger 4wd Event

This truck has been in and out of the workshop for years with little upgrades here and there. Typan was the prototype for our very first wall kit many moons ago, and we can’t thank Tyson and team enough for allowing us their truck to develop an industry leading product, as well as our first safety cage that met all governing body regulations for offroad racing. Back then, not many could make that claim to fame.
Typan holds a very special place at CAM Fab, so rightfully features on our merch shirts and advertising (which i really need to order more of).
Just like its name sake, Typan is big, elusive, angry and packs a mighty punch!

Some decent sized 50nb side steps for a rather large F250.
This truck is jacked to the sky, side steps will substitute for a ladder.

GQ OWNERS! This one is for you.
Whilst stripping back the cab of one of our side builds, of course we came across the very common rusted radiator support.
Have a flick through the pics and check out our solution.
This way saves removing snorkel, guards, condensor, radiator, headlights…

Some interesting things happening at home away from the shop.

Chris and I have been along side many of you as we built inhouse or supplied our products for your own dream rigs, so we thought its finally time to do ours.
Between us both, we have now got 4 Patrols..2 GU’s and 2 GQ’s.
Our aim is to make 3 clean head turning vehicles…with a deadline of end of May next year. Yep, wish us luck!
The husband/wife debates on all 3 builds are heating up.

Progress so far….chop decisions made, 2 out of 3 exterior paint colours chosen, one GU has had a dash replacment, one GQ stripped ready to chop. So so much work to do!

Let me tell you, this side of the fence has a rather different feeling 🫣

The Girls from High Maintenance Racing have their winch truck on display at Big Boys Toys Expo at the Mackay Showgrounds this weekend.
That burnt orange colour is giving us some inspiration on our own new work ute side build we have going on at the moment. 🧐

Be sure to check this truck out, and all the others…throw the kids in them and have a chat to all the crews.
Getting teams together for these types of public displays is what keeps the sport in the spotlight.

Massive ‘Well Done’ to all our Offroad racers at Moranbah over the weekend!
With the Callander Father and Son duo coming in 2nd and 3rd over all in their Ultimate pro buggies, it was an epic battle over two days with only seconds between them.

Rednut Racing put in a solid effort with a navi change and pulled an amazing lap time in one of the sections. Kye, you are insane!

And finally JUST PRESS Racing made their debut into Offroad racing with none other than our Canam build from 2022. After a couple ‘practice laps’ Jack really got the feel of things and smashed some well timed laps. So much more to come from this team!

Extremely proud. What a weekend! 😎

This local 100 extra cab was back in this week having the interior installed after being at paint.
I don’t even know what to say for this one…it’s clean, it’s well built..it’s honestly one of those vehicles that make us want to jump the fence from Patrols to the comfort of a 1HDFTE 100…almost.
The interior is on point with the reupholstered roof liner and a thorough in house clean of all plastics and dash.
Chris did what he does best and delivered another perfect radius edged conversion using our very popular 100/105 extra cab rear wall kit as well as our tray & tank mount kit.

From this vehicles transition from wagon (with a rear draw set up) to current form, approximately 800kg in weight has been dropped and it now has a tray length of 2100mm.

The owner of this one is super happy to have his pride and joy back together, engineered, and ready to complete the tray/canopy set up for his many planned adventures.
Only thing Ian needs to sort now, is where he is heading off to first!

Off the 105 extra cab goes, back down to Brisbane.
To say Daniel was excited to see his car again was an understatement.
We picked him up from the airport this morning and he was bouncing around in the work car like a kid at Christmas. This part of the handover always makes us smile the most.
We spent a good hour or so talking mods and upgrades and boy does Daniel have a list. We’ll be following closely as this vehicle evolves into a head turner while retaining its intended purpose of spending most of it’s time offroad.

It was a pleasure working with Daniel and his vehicle and we really can’t thank him enough for all the patience he showed as Chris and I worked through what has been the busiest start to the year we’ve ever had here at CAM Fab.

Up next will be a few smaller inhouse jobs as we finally peel off the car cover on our own Patrol and get cutting and stretching.

Lastly, I’d just like to mention that we currently have an excessive amount of wall kit orders we are working through, which has blown out our lead times to 12-14 business days from order payment to freight.

It was an absolute pleasure to have Michael from Goode's Off-Road here visiting us all the way from Texas, USA.
We hosted Michael for the very last King Of Carnage winch truck event, to which was his first time experiencing this type of offroad racing. He has mentioned he might be back over for the last Cliffhanger event!!

Chris spent sometime showing him the workshop and showing him how to achieve that perfect radius edge on a conversion that we are well known for, whilst I got some time to walk Michael through more of our products.

Goode’s Offroad has placed a significant order of Landcruiser wall kits and chassis extension kits with us that will solidify CAM Fab overseas and perhaps introduce interest in the mighty Patrol’s with Michael giving us a special mission to do a conversion for him that he can export over to his home state to complete with an engine swap and some mad suspension that we aren’t allowed to have over here.

Lastly we had a lovely dinner together with both our families that has not only sealed a strong working relationship with CAM Fabrications future exports to the United States, but also created a bond and a friendship that will no doubt see Chris and I head off to America to visit our new friends sometime soon!

Carnage Off Road - Sarina is one of our biggest events of the year and one we support with pride.
HI-DEE HOE has been with us since Easter for rear shock repair and we decided she really was in desperate need of new make up as well before this epic finale of the King Of Carnage.

Over the last 3 weeks we’ve addressed her rusted bar work issues, new head lights, new UHF, washed winch ropes, cleaned and polished all her chequer plate, painted rear belly plate and rear diff, given the rims a clean and polished her cab to within an inch of its life.
We have worked tirelessly until the late hours of every night and boy has it paid off.
She is one super sexy winch truck!

Come check her out over the weekend and maybe you might catch Chris and Cooper sneak in a lap or two on the track.
We’ll also have a special guest with us, Michael from Goode's Off-Road all the way from Texas USA. Michael changed is flight plans 2 weeks ago when we told him of this event. He is a keen Landcruiser fan, we are hoping to change his mind this weekend and send him home with not only our cruiser rear wall kits, but maybe some Patrol kits as well 😉
