A beautiful, unit of an eastern brown snake that was in a power box. The electricians needed to do maintenance so they asked if I could catch it. After they finished, they were happy to let me release it in the same place.

Flashback to a great coastal carpet python I caught from a school. The student's were way too interested in it to leave it so we took it to some nearby bush where there's a nice creek. Watch it climb! I will never get sick of seeing these gorgeous animals move and climb!

This Common tree snake was living in the walls of a house in south Mackay. It took a drain camera to find him. Thankfully the owner was about to re-clad his home and didn't mind removing a section of external wall to get him out. This is his release 😀

This is a carpet python taking up residence in my neighbour's letterbox. Its great footage to show how they can work themselves into such small places. Needless to say, the postie didn't deliver any bills that day🤣He also refused to pay rent, so he was safely relocated to bushland better suited to his budget.

Hello, I would just like to introduce myself after Heather graciously granted me admin access to this page. My name is Darren and I'm a Mackay local of 30 years and one of your local catchers. I have an avid fascination and love for our slithery friends and believe that education is key to the protection of our wildlife. I will be posting/sharing some of our catch and release content which I really hope you enjoy 😀. Please note the footage will be raw and unedited. (Sometimes even swear words 😮) Managing a lively Taipan and an iPhone isn't a great combination unless there are two of us on the call out, but we do our best. Happy world snake day.
This is one of my favourite catches to date. A big chonker eastern brown that was in the middle of nowhere. The only reason he had to be moved was because the workers had to maintain the box. They finished the job in 20 minutes and let me put it back. I love that so much!
Eastern brown. Pseudonaja textilis.
And thanks goes to Allen Glover for the wicked video skills. Coz we all know if I was in charge of that, it would be a video of my feet! 🤣
