🚨 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE TEAM 🚨

After years of research and development, we’re proud to introduce a new approach to snake catching focused on calm, controlled interactions for safer outcomes.

🎶 Snake Calming & Relocation Program 🐍

From today, all call-outs will include:
• Traditional-style flute playing, inspired by the calm, rhythmic techniques used overseas to gently settle snakes
• Slow, controlled interpretive movements to create a relaxed environment and reduce stress during captures
• Special focus on Eastern Browns, with recent “studies” suggesting they respond best to soft tones and steady, flowing motion

Our goal is simple — a calmer snake, a safer catch, and a more controlled relocation process for everyone involved.

If you happen to see one of our team members moving gracefully through your yard while playing a flute… rest assured, it’s all part of the process.

Do you have small, caged pets outside?
Are they safe from snakes and vermin?
Check their cages. Are they made with bars or mesh?
Is the floor sealed?
Are there gaps in the doors?

If the cages are not snake and vermin proof, you will risk a snake (or rats and mice) getting into the cage for an easy meal.

What animals are we talking about? Caged birds. Parrots, budgies, finches, quails and the like. Guinea pigs, rats, mice, puppies and kittens and similar mammals. Anything that a wild snake would eat.
A snake doesn't understand that this is your hand raised bird that you've had since it came out of the egg and have taught it to talk to you. It just sees a prey item with no escape. Easy meal with little effort. It's instinctual. There's no thought, just instinct.

It's up to us as pet owners to keep our pets safe. Just like we keep our dogs in our yards.
Here we will go through how.

Snake and vermin proof wire will be your best friend. That's my recommended product.
Lots of commercial cages are definitely not snake proof!
I recommend 6 or 10mm mesh.
NOT BARS.

Most (not all but most) snakes that predate on the above are predominantly nocturnal so if your cages aren't snake proof, bringing them inside at night will reduce the risk significantly. With chooks, I recommend there roosts be snake proof. Line the roosting area with snake and vermin mesh and pay attention to any gaps. You can use expand-a-foam to plug holes. Check the roof corrugation. There's commonly gaps there. Foam it up. Go for gold.
Check the door. Are there spaces around the door? You can use window seals to seal up smaller gaps there. They're adhesive on one side and rubber or foam on the other. Making sure there are no ways in through the floor either. You can either line it with mesh or concrete it.

There are commercial cages you can buy that are small mesh and will be a lot easier to modify.
in Paget had some great mesh guineas pig hutches the other day. I definitely recommend these over bars! Aviaries too. If you can steer clear of the barred cages, do. Keep to the mesh ones. They are big and more expensive but sometimes, you can pick them up on marketplace. I still recommend sealing the floor with wire or concrete so there are no gaps. Checking the door to make sure there are no gaps there and using expand-a-foam in the roof corrigation gaps (and any others you can see).

If you have barred cages, bring your birds/guinea pigs in at night. Not in the garage where pythons and brown tree snakes can slip easily through the garage door.
A laundry or bathroom is way better.

We are happy to answer questions and hopefully, we can proactively prevent the heartbreak and pain of loosing a pet to a snake.
