Whitsunday Funerals & Crematorium for a Funeral Arranger / Conductor.
As a Funeral Director at Whitsunday Funerals, you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate and professional care to families during their most difficult times. Based in the beautiful Whitsundays & Mackay region of Queensland, this full-time position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in your local community.
What you'll be doing
• Coordinating all aspects of funeral arrangements, from first contact with the family to final disposition
• Providing empathetic support and guidance to grieving families
• Preparing and presenting the deceased with the utmost care and respect
• Liaising with celebrants, cemeteries, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless funeral services
• Maintaining meticulous records and adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements
• Assisting with the administration and logistics of the funeral home
• Contributing to the development and implementation of the company's policies and procedures
• This role includes after hours on call on a rostered system.
What we're looking for
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to offer compassionate support to families
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A deep understanding of the cultural, religious, and legal aspects of funeral service
• Proficiency in using relevant software and technology
• A genuine commitment to providing high-quality care and service
• Holds a current open driver’s licence
• Is physically fit and comfortable with lifting duties
• Works well in a team and independently
• Is comfortable with after-hours work on a rotating basis
