Allison is downsizing !
As of 19th December 2025, Maclean Natural Health Centre will no longer be working in its present form.
Allison is downsizing to 2 days per week and she will be working from home.
From now all supplements for our clients will be supplied via online scripts that Allison will organise.
This means that there will no longer be a shop front and therefore consultations will be by appointment only.
Allison will still be making up herbal treatments and creams as needed.
The phone number will remain 0468 331 752.

A personal note from Allison:
'I have been working in this business for over 35 years. It's time for a change.
I want to express my gratitude to the community for their loyalty over the years. I feel particularly fortunate to have been a part of people's lives and of having the privilege of helping people with their health and well-being'.

A little gut-health reset at Flo Colonics

I recently visited Flo Colonics in Gulmarrad and wanted to share the experience because it was genuinely exceptional.

Flo Colonics is run by Louise, a registered nurse and qualified colon hydrotherapist, who provides a gentle and highly professional approach to colon hydrotherapy. The clinic is calm, spotless and private, and every part of the treatment is focused on comfort, dignity and safety.

The therapy itself uses warm, filtered water to gently stimulate natural elimination and support gut function. Louise uses a closed system—completely discreet, no mess, no smell—and guides you through each step with clear education and reassurance. The session also includes a relaxing abdominal massage, which made the whole process feel even more therapeutic.

Colonics can support a wide range of wellbeing benefits, including digestive health, chronic or acute constipation, bloating, perimenopause and menopause symptoms, skin health, immune support, sleep quality, and even targeted parasite cleanses. Clients range from 18 to 75, and every session is fully tailored.

You will leave feeling lighter, clearer and genuinely energised.

If you’ve been curious about colon hydrotherapy or want to support your gut health in a safe, evidence-informed and nurturing environment, Flo Colonics is well worth a visit.

What a night for Maclean Medical at the Healthy North Coast Primary Health Care Excellence Awards.

Last night at Pacific Bay Resort, we were honoured to receive the Excellence in Innovation Award for our nurse-led Access Health Clinic — a model designed to remove barriers, deliver same-day affordable care, and meet the real-world needs of our rural communities.

This recognition sits alongside an incredible group of finalists across the region who are driving change in primary care. It was inspiring to celebrate alongside clinicians, nurses, allied health, Aboriginal health workers and teams who are lifting the standard of care for the North Coast.

Thank you to Healthy North Coast and the judging panel, and to our community who continue to trust us with their care. And thank you to our team — this award belongs to every one of you who show up with purpose, compassion and commitment.

Innovation in rural healthcare isn’t just possible — it’s happening right here in the Clarence Valley.

More to come as we continue expanding the Access Health Clinic model to give more communities the care they deserve.

Why we close early on Tuesdays

At Maclean Medical, the quality of your care comes first.
Every Tuesday afternoon our clinical team steps away from consults to focus on ongoing education, case discussions, and collaborative learning.

This dedicated time allows us to:
• Review complex cases
• Strengthen clinical decision-making
• Stay up to date with best-practice guidelines
• Improve consistency and quality across all services

Thank you for your understanding. Investing this time each week means we can continue delivering safer, more comprehensive, and continuously improving care for our community.

Job Advertisement: Nurse Practitioner – Rural Access Model

Join a Nurse-Led Model That’s Redefining Primary Care

We are expanding our award-winning nurse-owned and nurse-led rural access clinic model, and are seeking Nurse Practitioners who want to practise at full scope, lead innovation, and deliver genuine impact in communities with limited access to care.

What sets us apart

• Nurse-Owned. Nurse-Run. Nurse-Led.
No corporate owners. No GP-gatekeeping. You lead the clinical direction within a supportive advanced practice team.

• True Full-Scope NP Practice.
Independent consulting, diagnostics, prescribing, procedural work, chronic disease management, women’s health, skin cancer medicine, weight-loss services, IV therapy, foot care, and more—without the restrictions common in mixed GP/NP models.

• Community-Designed Care.
Our clinics are built around the Betty Model—a rural access framework grounded in listening without judgement, cultural respect, and bringing care to communities who have been left behind.

• Sustainable Private-Billing Model.
We are self-funded, sustainably designed, and not reliant on GP item numbers. This means predictable remuneration and protected time for quality care.

• Real Career Autonomy.
Shape services, contribute to model design, influence policy, and help scale this model across rural Australia.

The Role

• Provide independent NP-led primary care consultations
• Deliver procedural services aligned with your scope and interests
• Lead chronic disease, women’s health, and preventative health programs
• Build relationships with local communities and stakeholders
• Contribute to service expansion into new rural communities

We Offer

• Highly competitive remuneration
• Flexible locations as we grow into new rural areas
• Supportive advanced practice nursing team
• Opportunities to lead new service lines
• A model backed by innovation awards and strong community demand

Who We’re Looking For

Nurse Practitioners who value autonomy, innovation, and purposeful work—those who want to practise the way the profession was intended, and who believe nurses can lead change in rural Australia.

Make an impact. Shape the future of advanced practice nursing.

3 months out – Joinery, flooring, lighting, cabinetry, and internal progress across all clinical and consulting spaces
2 months out – Clinical fit-out begins (furniture, clinical equipment, room setup) and radiology installation starts early February (CT, MRI, X-ray, ultrasound), plus IT + network installation
1 month out – Staff onboarding and training, workflow testing, signage installation, safety and accessibility checks
Opening month – Soft-launch, accreditation and final approvals, and then doors open to a purpose-built, fully integrated medical and radiology hub
