‘Organic Rhubarb, Apple & Strawberry Compote’ 🍎🍎🍓🍓

A perfect delicious addition to your breakfast granola, pancakes or nice cream. Just scoop over & enjoy!

Recipe:
🍓 1 Bunch fresh rhubarb, trimmed & cut into 1 inch pieces.
🍓 2 Apples (skin on), cut into small cubes.
🍓 1 Cup strawberries (fresh or frozen.)
🍓 1/4 Cup sultanas.
🍓 2 TBSPS Maple syrup or honey.
🍓 1 TSP Ceylon cinnamon.
🍓 1 Vanilla bean stick.
🍓 1/4 Cup water.

Method:
Add ingredients into a medium saucepan (except for the strawberries & maple syrup.)
Cover & simmer for 10-15 until the mixture is soft & reduced down.
Add the strawberries & maple syrup.
Allow to cool down, then serve as desired.

Enjoy! Serves 4 🥄

Spotlight on Vitamin D.

As the colder months approach, it becomes more of a challenge to keep our Vitamin D levels high.
A great way to benefit & increase our Vitamin D consumption is by consuming mushrooms which have been exposed to direct sunlight.
Lay your mushrooms gill side up & allow them to bask in the sunshine for an hour or so.
This will turn them into a Vitamin D factory for you! 🍄🍄

Try eating them raw, thinly sliced in a fresh salad.
Add them to your pesto base or gremolata.
Marinade them in your favorite herbs and spices.
Enjoy a mushroom burger or as a burger bun.
Add them to your roast vegetables.
The possibilities are endless!

Understanding the body’s 3 phase cycle & why the ideal eating window is between 12:00pm-8:00pm.

Digestion 12:00pm-8:00pm.
Assimilation 8:00pm-4:00am.
Elimination 4:00am-12:00pm.

Our body has three natural stages that the digestive process goes through (as mentioned above.)

When we force our body to digest food before midday while the body is still in the elimination phase, our digestion becomes sluggish & our elimination becomes impaired.

This has a double negative effect on the body.
Firstly, sluggish digestion does not efficiently digest food thereby creating more waste & fermentation in the system.
Secondly the early shift away from elimination means the body is eliminating less.

When you combine these two factors the result is far more waste being trapped in the system, leading to disease conditions.

When we eat exclusively during the digestion window we find that our mind is clearer & we have more energy early in the day to get through our tasks.
We have less energy drain & we also allow the repairs to the digestive system to take place.
We have less of the pains of false hunger & are less likely to overeat later in the day.

When we return to the natural diet of raw fruits, tender leafy greens, raw nuts, seeds, sprouts & tender vegetables we remove the substances from our diet that are injuring our tissues & as the body heals we see these hunger pains disappear.
Instead, we are free to choose to eat only when the body requires fuel & we become free of the cravings which enslave us & keep us trapped in unhealthy cycles of eating.

As an Integrative Health & Nutrition Consultant it is my duty of care to inform you of the hidden dangers that are constantly being infiltrated into our food system.
Today I would like to briefly discuss the dangers of ‘Seed Oils.’

Seed oils are inclusive of the following vegetable oils:

•Canola oil.
•Corn oil.
•Cottonseed oil.
•Grapeseed oil.
•Soybean oil.
•Sunflower oil.
•Safflower oil.
•Rice bran oil.

Seed oils have a high Omega 6 ratio making them highly toxic.
They are a neurotoxin for the brain, causing anxiety, depression & also linked to Alzheimer’s & Dementia.
Seed oils are also linked to different cancers, in particular bowel cancer.
They are also renowned for causing gut dysbiosis, skin conditions, inflammation & heart disease.

Why has the use of seed oils become so popular in Australia & America?

Simply because it is cheap, it exists in abundance (over supply) & is endorsed by paid sponsorship (including doctors & scientists) stating that they are safe food products.

The human brain & body is fuelled by glucose. Glucose is the essential metabolic fuel for the brain. Our brain is the most energy demanding organ. It requires half of all the sugar energy in our body to function properly (It uses blood sugar for energy - fuel.)
Sugar is the fuel for every one of our hundred trillion cells. Every cell in our body, from our brain to the tips of our toes uses sugar to function.

It is important to understand the distinction between ‘Simple Fruit Sugar Versus Refined Processed Sugars.’

• Fructose - Simple sugar found in fruits on which we thrive.
• Sugars & starches - Grains are less ideal.
• Refined, processed & fractionated sugars are detrimental (harmful), stealing nutrients from our body, leaving the body damaged & deficient.
This is not the right form of sugar for our brain & body to function optimally.

Refined processed sugars come in the form of cane sugar (white & brown sugar), icing sugar, wheat syrup, high-fructose corn syrup & agave.
These forms of sugars are found in lollies, biscuits, cakes, desserts, ice cream, yogurt, juices, soft drinks, sports drinks, alcohol, snack foods, breads, crackers, breakfast cereals, flavoured chips, condiments, tinned foods & even so called health foods (It is found in everything except for whole fruit & vegetables.)

The superior source of brain fuel is fruit:
Fruits in their whole form provide us with the correct type of sugar to fuel the brain & every cell in our body, replenishing our body’s water & nutrient stores.
Fruit regenerates brain & nerve tissue, making it the best form of brain food!
In addition to the necessary & proper sugar, the water found in fruit is essential, providing the best hydration for the human brain & body.
When we properly feed our body with whole fruits, we provide adequate amounts of sugar to fuel all of our cells (those intense cravings for ice cream, cakes & biscuits will then disappear.)
Yes fruit is sweet, but make no mistake; it is not equal to refined processed sugars & sweeteners. Fruit is catalyst in fuelling our brain & body with high frequency energy & electrolytes. Contrary to what you have been taught to believe about fruit, fresh whole fruits are long chain complex sugars containing a plethora of micronutrients.
Fruit is healing, containing essential life sustaining properties.
Fruit is also necessary to cleanse & rid your body of unwanted waste & toxicity.
It encourages tissue & cellular regeneration, promoting healing to every part of your body.
Fruits containing flavonoids like quercetin & kaemperol have anti-inflammatory effects that protect against chronic illnesses.
They also contain anthocyanins promoting neuroprotective effects, reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s & Dementia. Also improving cardiovascular health & reducing the risk of chronic diseases.

Fruit is packed with polyphenols & fiber to support & promote healthy gut microbiome.
Unlike refined sugars, fruits are nutritiously packed full of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, phytochemical, fiber & structured water.

The higher the energy a food has, the greater healing ability it has. Every living plant has an electromagnetic power (vibration.)

Slow Cooked ‘Vegan Chili Con Carne.’ 🔥🔥🔥

A super delicious & nutritious plant based family favorite that everyone will love! 😍😍

Save the recipe 🍴

Ingredients:
• 1 large onion, diced.
• 4 garlic cloves, crushed.
• 250g button mushrooms, chopped.
• 1 red capsicum, diced.
• 1 yellow capsicum, diced.
• 1 large carrot, diced.
• 2 celery stalks, diced.
• 1 large sweet potato, diced.
• 1 zucchini, diced.
• 1 tin natural Italian tomatoes or 4 fresh tomatoes, diced.
• 1 tin black beans, drained & rinsed.
• 1 tin kidney beans or cannellini beans, drained & rinsed.
• 2 cups natural vegetable broth.
• 2 TBSPS tomato paste.
• 1 jalapeno pepper.
• 1 TSP chili powder.
• 1 TBSP smoked paprika.
• 3 TSPS ground cumin.
• 2 TSPS ground coriander.
• 1 TBSP dried oregano.
• 4 bay leaves.
• Natural sea salt to taste.
• Pepper to taste.

Toppings:
• 1 avocado, sliced.
• 1 red chilli, sliced.
• Handful fresh coriander.
• Juice of 1 lime.
• Zest of 1 lime.
• Natural coconut yogurt.

Method:
Add all of the ingredients into the slow cooker & mix together *(reserving the beans & toppings for later.)
Place the lid on & cook on high for 5 hours until soft & tender.
Add the beans & continue to cook for a further hour.
The consistency should be thick, similar to a stew.
Add the lime zest & some coriander to the pot, mix well together.
Serve in individual bowls, then add the remaining toppings.
For extra heartiness serve with mashed cauli-potatoes or steamed quinoa.

True Healing.

It's NOT about what you ADD to your diet that will heal you.

It's about what you REMOVE from it.

It's NOT about adding drugs, vitamins, minerals, isolated supplements, hormones, steroids, or anything you THINK your body needs. Most of the time these things become antagonistic chemistry inside the body and do further damage.

It is about fixing the problems inside your body that cause you to have problems in the first place. You must correct your body's digestion, absorption, utilization and elimination. You must remove the obstructions (mental, physical and emotional) that are the true cause.

It is NOT about ADDING harmful chemical medications. Treatment-based thinking cannot cure because it does not address the cause. It's about REMOVING the cause of your pain, inflammation, dis-eases and conditions.

It's about cleaning out the acid and toxic waste buildup around the cells in your body's gigantic sewer system, your lymphatic system.

You must VISIBLY remove lymphatic (cellular metabolic sewage) and parasitic waste from your body that prevents your weakened organs and glands from functioning the way they should.

It is also about strengthening, rebuilding and regenerating those weakened organs and inherited glandular weaknesses.

It is not about anything that you can ADD.

It's about what you must REMOVE.

And when you detoxify your body, you will be ASTOUNDED at what is inside of you!! It is an AMAZING journey, and worth every minute.
