As part of our Project 6 global volunteer initiative, 30 Medtronic employees spent the day with OzHarvest, helping prepare rescued food for people in need across Sydney. It was a powerful way to give back, and a chance to learn how small actions can create big impact.

Alongside preparing meals, our teams gained hands-on insights into reducing food waste, including clever ways to repurpose everyday scraps, like turning potato peels into delicious, crisp snacks. These lessons in sustainability and food security were just as meaningful as the meals we helped deliver.

A heartfelt thank you to our ANZ Philanthropy Committee and OzHarvest for the opportunity to live our Mission in the community.

At Medtronic, we're passionate about supporting the next generation of STEM graduates and advancing careers in med tech.

Through the generous support of our ANZ Philanthropy Committee Employee Resource Group, Medtronic proudly sponsored UNSWs Forge Your Future: Materials Industry Networking Night as a Gold Sponsor. We had the opportunity to connect and share with students exploring the future of materials science, from metallurgy and ceramics to polymers and functional materials.

We’re proud of our employees Adam Jay, Elysha Cramer, and Sharon Nota for volunteering their time to share their insights and join the student Q&A panel. Events like these are an important platform for inspiring innovation and encouraging students to explore careers that change lives.

At Medtronic, we believe in the power of coming together to serve something greater than ourselves.

Last week, 20 of our employees partnered with the Rev. Bill Crews Foundation as part of Project 6, our annual global volunteer initiative. Thanks to the incredible commitment of our employees, we helped prepare and serve lunch to 273 people in need, contributing to the 55,000+ individuals supported by the Foundation each month.

From kitchen preparation and guest services to offsite logistics and stocktake, every volunteer played a critical role. This day truly reflected Tenet 6 of the Medtronic Mission—to maintain good citizenship as a company and demonstrated our shared commitment to supporting local communities.

The Medtronic Australia and New Zealand FY26 Kick-off Plenary brought together employees to celebrate the past fiscal year and set our sights on the exciting year to come.

We were honoured to hear from two of our inspiring patients, whose stories reminded us why we do what we do every day. We were also joined by motivational speaker Michael McQueen, who delivered an insightful keynote on mastering the art of momentum — a timely and energising message as we embark on the year ahead.

Together, these voices brought our Mission of alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life.

Thank you to Michael McQueen and our patients for sharing your stories, and to our incredible team for your ongoing dedication. We’re proud of the impact we’ve made and even more excited for what’s to come.

Supporting Research That Matters.

Medtronic Australasia was proud to support Research Day 2025 at Whangārei Hospital last week — a fantastic event hosted by Aotearoa Clinical Trials, celebrating collaboration, innovation, and impact in clinical research.

Bringing together researchers, GPs, pharmacists, Māori health leaders, hospital teams and community voices, the day showcased the power of partnership in creating meaningful and accessible research across Te Tai Tokerau and beyond.

It was inspiring to hear firsthand from patients, local researchers, and healthcare professionals driving change where it’s needed most. We're honoured to play a small part in supporting this important vision.

At Medtronic, we believe that advancing surgical care starts with empowering the next generation of surgeons. That’s why we’re proud to support initiatives like the Australasian Students Surgical Conference (ASSC).

Through our partnership with ASSC 2025, we provided future surgeons with hands-on experience, access to innovative technologies, and exposure to real-world procedures such as aortic valve replacement.

We’re thrilled to share that the Medtronic AVR station was voted the #1 skills station by delegates — receiving nearly double the votes of second place!

A huge thank you to David (DJ) Carrick, Rory Flood, Simon Jones and everyone who contributed their time and expertise. It was inspiring to see so much enthusiasm for cardiac surgery and surgical to engage with future surgical leaders at this outstanding event. We're proud of this collaboration between our surgical and cardiac surgery teams across Medtronic showcasing how valuable these events are in strengthening connections and advancing care.

Congratulations to the ASSC 2025 team for delivering a high-quality educational experience. We look forward to continuing our support for surgical education and innovation across Australasia.
