From 5 years old to nearly 19, Sahez’s T1D journey has been filled with strength, sparkle, and resilience. Here’s what she’d tell her younger self… 💙

“I am who I am today because of my diabetes, and I wouldn’t change that for the world. It has made me strong, resilient and the life of the party! Looking at this picture of younger me, I would tell her never to let anyone dim her sparkle.

Being different is hard, especially when no one understands you, but don’t let your difference stop you from becoming the best version of you. No one, ABSOLUTELY no one’s opinion about you and your condition is as important as how you feel about yourself.

LOVE YOURSELF!!"

☀️ Summer + T1D

Heading into sunny days with your MiniMed™ 780G and Guardian™ 4 sensor?

Here are a few tips to keep things smooth & enjoy summer:

Pick the right spot – the back of the upper arm is best for Guardian™ 4 and avoid areas of scar tissue (even tattoos) and areas where clothing can rub.

Make it stick – prep skin with alcohol/skin prep, avoid lotions such as fake tan and sunscreen before insertion, and use extra tape if you’re swimming or sweating more.

Travel smart – pack extras, don’t leave your insulin, your pump or even your sensors in hot cars or direct sun.

Swim Time – The MiniMed™ 780G insulin pump is waterproof at the time of manufacture and when the reservoir and tubing are properly inserted. These pumps are protected up to 2.4 meters of immersion for up to 30 minutes continuously. If you are just splashing around at the beach or in the pool or even doing aqua aerobics, you’ll be fine for longer!!

Perfect for pool dips and beach time!

✨ Skincare matters – Sunscreen, lotion, and insect repellent are a must, BUT they can damage your pump case. Wash your hands before handling your pump!

💙 Live your best summer life and share it with us!

We asked Jye what advice he’d give his younger self at diagnosis 10 years ago.

Here’s what he said:

“If I could tell my younger self one thing when I was first diagnosed, it would be to ask more questions about how to manage the condition best. If anyone tells you, “You don’t need a pump,” make sure you get a second opinion. Choosing a pump has truly changed my life, and it could change yours too.”

Thank you for inspiring us , we love seeing you thrive!
