The veterinary community in Western Australia recently came together for the WAVESCON conference in Perth, which as usual was a fantastic opportunity for veterinary team members to catch up, learn, network and party! Vetnostics Veterinary Pathologist Dr Ben Remaj and Veterinary Liaison Officer for WA/NT Rachel Youlden were on hand to answer questions at our trade stand, along with sharing some great giveaways - with congratulations to Dr Jess Jackson from Mundaring Veterinary Hospital - winner of our hamper prize, which Rachel later presented - seen here with the hospital team including clinic cat Jill! If you're a veterinarian in Far North Queensland - or you're keen to head up there, consider registering to attend the 2025 ASVP & DTF Scientific Conference in Townsville from 17-19 October, which features an amazing line up of speakers including Vetnostics' Specialist Veterinary Pathologist Dr John Mackie!

The theme of the event is the Haematolymphoid System, and the conference will feature presentations from an array of international and national speakers led by Professor Dorothee Bienzle from the University of Guelph, covering clinical pathology, anatomical pathology and oncology. In addition to the learning and networking opportunities at the conference, you could also explore the nearby Daintree Rainforest and Great Barrier Reef!

If you've diagnosed a patient with liver disease via clinical examination, clinical biochemistry and/or diagnostic imaging, you may find yourself asking; ‘Should I be performing a liver biopsy for histopathology? Or is it more appropriate to perform a fine needle aspirate (FNA) for cytological examination?’.
