International Women's Day

Teaching our young girls that whatever their dreams and ambitions maybe, they can be achieved. Follow your own path with self belief and the greatest enthusiasm without hesitation. Surround yourselves with like minded girlfriends who will pick you up when you're down, walk beside you even when they are walking a different path, treat you with love and respect. Look in the mirror and love who you see because that young woman can be that encouraging voice in your ears, the one voice that will always be available if you allow her to speak. Take care of yourself even better than you take care of others, talk to yourself with loving kindness the same way you speak to others because you deserve. Refuse to be entitled and instead be humble because the best life for yourself is the life you self create. Go out and find the love you truly deserve and settle for nothing less or be graciously and powerfully single.

🌸Midlife reflection

Women become stronger with every stage of their lives and are always searching for ways to happiness. We begin as young girls at school trying to fit in, and when we struggle we begin to change who we are to be accepted. We lose our unique identity just because being accepted by other girls is more important than self acceptance. We are programmed to study, work, find love, buy a house, get married, have children and live a happy life. Reality check!!! This is not the case for many women, so we find ways to live our lives the best way we can and letting go of the pressures of self expectations. "A woman's happiness can't be found while wanting to live another woman's life."
Many of us work towards careers that are programmed into us because it's expected of us and we don't stop and ask ourselves "Is this the path I really want for me or am I living someone else's dreams?" Some of us live by the example of our mothers who complain about being doormats and having to do everything because they didn't no better and when they decided to put themselves first, their partner and kids thought they had lost the plot. We are beginning to learn from our mothers and change the perception of a wife/partner and mother. We are teaching future generations that we can be the best wife/partner and mother by simply putting ourselves and our dreams first. I became my authentic self when I became a single mum all those 24 years ago. My future was totally in my control and I had no time to waste to prove to myself that I had the power to give my children the best upbringing possible. There were lots of pot holes, steep climbs, mistakes and regretful times but I would not be the woman of strength today without the lessons. Being happy with the minimalism way of life without the wants and needs of things without purpose was and still is the way I live my life. Every woman has life experiences that have taken them on a different path than planned and they have landed back on their feet. They are stronger, more resilient, more driven, more outspoken, more independent, more focussed on creating a better future for themselves than ever before. I'm heading into my mid 50s this month with even more determination, self confidence, self accomplishing, self love and gratitude than ever before. Woman in their 50's are rediscovering themselves and beginning to acknowledge how powerful their future life can be.
