MudFever / Rainscald / Greasy heel.

Rainscald and mudfever are caused by the same bacteria. firstly, pressure hose the mud and any scabs that come off on their own. then soak the affected areas with...
1. in 10 litres of very warm water, add 1/2 cup vinegar and 20-30 ML of coconut oil or baby oil. Sponge this into the hair and leave it on to dry.
2. preventative..
massaging in sudocream, zinc oxide cream.

preventative #2
Henna spray. order red henna online, put 1 heaped tablespoon into a 500gram spray bottle and dissolve in hot water. spray the henna onto a soft brush and soak the affected area with henna spray. IT WILL STAIN BROWN!! no need to wash organise with the vinegar mix, just pressure hose the mud off, pat dry a little bit, then soak with henns spray and leave it on to dry.

3. WASH the brushes, and everything used on that horse, mud fever/rainscald is highly contagious.

Looking at the horse before and during Bodywork, Physio, Training, Fitness.

Assessment for measurable changes.

Assessment may include an array of information, starting with...
1. TPR. What is YOUR horses normal range?
Temperture: 37 - 38.5 Celcius
Pulse: 24 - 40 beats per min.
Respiration: 8 - 16 breaths per min.
Capillary refill: less than 2 seconds

2. Physical Posture Assessment.
Check superficial muscle tone, any stiffness, joint size, shape & position.

3. Movement Assessment.
Checklist in the picture, download, print or copy to use in your horse's record.

must be sound. no Equine metabolic syndrome, itch, or founder, prefer barefoot.
prefer Andy or Iberian X, Anglo X, Appy or paint X, coloured or splashy colour.
wanted for trails, low level competition.
knowledgeable, experienced, patient home assured. If horse isn't suitable within 12 months, then happy to return or on-sell to appropriate home.
