We know our approach won’t suit everyone.

We’re not the fastest.
We don’t promise everything will be easy.
And we take the time to make sure supports are appropriate, sustainable and in the participant’s best interest.

But we are consistent.

We take the time to understand things properly.
We hold boundaries where they’re needed.
And we stay focused on what is reasonable, sustainable and in the participant’s best interest.

For some people, that works really well.

For others, they might be looking for something different.

And that’s okay.

What matters most is that people have the right support around them.. even if that isn’t us.

We don’t often post things like this, but it feels important to acknowledge.

Much of our work comes through people recommending us, and trusting us to step into their situation.

That trust isn’t something we take lightly.

We know the level of responsibility that comes with this role, especially when things are complex or not straightforward.

So to the participants, families, and providers who continue to place their trust in our team, thank you.

We’re proud of the work we do, and we’ll continue to hold a high standard in how we do it.

Sometimes things don’t quite line up.

What’s written in a report doesn’t fully reflect what’s happening day to day.

Supports are in place, but they’re not working as intended.

Funding is there, but it’s not being used in a way that makes sense.

That’s where we spend a lot of time.

Looking a bit closer.
Asking a few more questions.
Cross-checking information instead of taking it at face value.

Not to challenge for the sake of it, but to make sure what’s being put in place actually fits the person.

Because when things don’t align properly, it’s usually the participant who feels it.

That’s the part we don’t overlook.

30/04/2026

We work alongside a lot of providers.

Some we’ve worked with for a long time, some are new, and some we may only cross paths with once.

And while we respect the work that others do, we’re really mindful of keeping things clear.

Because in this space, relationships can very easily start to influence decisions, even when that’s not the intention.

That’s why we keep a level of separation.

Not to be distant, but to stay consistent.

Our role is to support participants to make informed choices, even when that means stepping away from a provider, or going in a different direction.

That can be uncomfortable at times.

But it keeps the focus where it should be.

And it protects the integrity of the role.

Because at the end of the day, our role isn’t to align with providers, it’s to stand clearly with the participant.

We know the recent NDIS announcements have created a lot of conversation, and for many participants and families, a level of uncertainty.

When changes like this are discussed, it’s natural to think about what this might mean for your supports, your plan, and your future.

We want to gently ground this.

There are no immediate changes to your current plan or supports. These reforms will be introduced gradually over time, with more detail and consultation to come.

Right now, there is space to pause and focus on what is in place.

At Create, we are a small, specialised team. We work closely alongside participants with complex needs, where understanding the full picture, advocating clearly, and getting the detail right truly matters.

As the NDIS evolves, this doesn’t change our role, it strengthens it.

We will continue to:
• understand your day-to-day needs and how they are impacted
• ensure your supports are clearly linked to those needs
• guide you through any changes in a calm and informed way
• advocate where it matters, using the right information and approach

We are not approaching this with fear. We are approaching it with clarity, experience, and a commitment to doing this properly.

We will move through any changes together, steadily, thoughtfully, and with your best interests at the centre.

You don’t need to have all the answers right now, and you don’t need to navigate this alone.

We are here, and we’ll walk this with you, every step of the way.

We won’t always move quickly.

And we know that can be frustrating at times.

But we’ve seen what happens when decisions are rushed in this space.

Supports get put in place that don’t quite fit.
Funding gets used in ways that aren’t sustainable.
Things look like they’re working, until they’re not.

Then it becomes harder to unwind.

So we take the time to understand what’s actually needed.

We ask questions.
We check things properly.
We think about how something will work not just now, but in a few months’ time.

It’s not about slowing things down for the sake of it.

It’s about getting it right, and reducing the need to fix things later.

That’s part of the responsibility that comes with this role.

A lot of our work doesn’t happen in appointments.

It happens in the in-between.

It’s the second and third follow up when something hasn’t been actioned.

It’s reading through reports properly, not just relying on summaries.

It’s noticing when something doesn’t quite add up, and taking the time to look into it.

It’s the quiet problem solving before something becomes a bigger issue.

Sometimes it’s picking up on risk early.
Sometimes it’s untangling things that have already gone wrong.

Most of it isn’t visible.
And most of it isn’t quick.

But it’s consistent, considered, and done with a lot of care.

We might be a smaller team, but we hold a high standard in the work we do.

Because when this role is done properly, it creates stability, and that matters more than anything.

It’s a part of the work that isn’t always seen, but it matters.

Bit of a random one after the Easter break, but something we’ve been talking about as a team.

We know we probably do things a bit differently to others in this space.

We don’t really do networking events, coffee catch ups or build relationships for referrals. That’s just never been how we’ve wanted to run things as a service.

Our role is to support participant choice, not influence it.

So decisions aren’t personal, and they’re not about business, they’re about what’s right for the person.

We get that this can sometimes be taken the wrong way, especially in a sector where relationships often drive referrals.

But for us, it’s about keeping things clear, consistent and free from any conflict (or even perceived conflict).

We might not be the most visible, and that’s okay. We focus on doing good work, and letting that speak for itself.

Four Years of Create

Today marks four years of Create Disability Services.
When I reflect on that, the growth I’m most proud of isn’t about numbers. It’s about quality. It’s about the way we’ve strengthened our practice, refined how we work, and built confidence in our approach.

Over time, we’ve deepened our understanding of evidence-based coordination and what that truly means in practice, clear documentation, strong governance, considered advocacy, and decisions that stand up long-term. That clarity has led to stronger outcomes for the people we support, and it has shaped who we are as a service.

The environment we work in can shift. Guidelines change. Expectations change. There’s often discussion about where things are heading.

Instead of chasing every change, we’ve focused on building something steady, clear processes, strong governance, and a way of working that stands up over time.

And that steadiness comes from our team.
They are steady. They collaborate. They uplift one another.

They hold high standards and genuinely care about doing this work properly. There’s no ego, just shared responsibility and a strong sense of purpose. That culture strengthens us more than anything else.

We truly love what we do, and I believe that shows in the work we provide and the relationships we’ve built.

To our participants and families, thank you for trusting us.

To the providers and professionals involved in the lives of the people we support, we respect the work you do and the contribution you make to strong, considered outcomes.

Four years in, we feel grounded, clear and confident in the path we’re on.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of it.
