Our Therapist Ben Crebert Psychology currently has availability!
Here’s a little more about Ben:
My Approach

I am an accredited EMDR practitioner and a consultant-in-training , specializing in trauma-informed therapy that integrates Parts Work , Process-Oriented Psychology , and Somatic Therapy . My approach focuses on the interplay of emotional, cognitive, and physical experiences, helping you process trauma, reconnect with your authentic self, and uncover deeper pathways for healing.
I value diversity and recognize that individual well-being is shaped by both current and intergenerational experiences, as well as the broader systems we live within—such as family, culture, and society. Distressing thoughts or behaviors often carry meaningful signals, reflecting unmet needs or pain rooted in these layers of experience. Together, we’ll approach these experiences with curiosity and compassion, uncover their deeper messages, and work toward meaningful change that honors your unique needs and values.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals and couples who feel weighed down by unresolved trauma, relational struggles, or self-doubt. If you’re managing life on the outside but feeling disconnected or overwhelmed within, therapy can help you reconnect with clarity, purpose, and fulfillment. I also support those navigating the unique challenges of neurodiversity, helping you embrace your strengths while addressing barriers to well-being.

Supervision for Clinicians

As a board-approved supervisor and EMDR consultant-in-training , I work with clinicians at all levels of experience who want to deepen their skills in trauma-focused therapy, including EMDR, dissociation, and complex cases. My supervision approach is collaborative and tailored to your needs, with an emphasis on integrating advanced techniques, understanding neurodiversity, and exploring how broader systems impact client well-being.

Let’s Begin

If you’re ready to heal, grow, or strengthen your skills as a clinician, I’d be honoured to support you. Contact me at admin@sevahouse.com.au

💜🌈 Wear It Purple Day🌈💜

💜Why Was This Day Created? 💜

Wear It Purple Day was created in 2010 in response to several tragic stories of young LGBTIQA+ people who had taken their own lives after experiencing bullying, rejection, and feeling like they didn’t belong.
A group of young people in Sydney came together and decided to do something visible and powerful to show support. They chose the colour purple because it represents spirit on the rainbow flag, a symbol of pride and solidarity in the LGBTIQA+ community.

🌈 What’s Our Part As Community Members? 🌈

Now growing up can be tough enough as it is!No one should ever have to question whether they belong. As a community, we can help make sure our young people feel safe in their schools, homes, and neighbourhoods.

That doesn’t always take big actions. Sometimes it looks like:
✨ Listening with an open heart.
✨ Using someone’s name and pronouns with respect.
✨ Showing up, speaking up, and letting people know they’re not alone.
✨ Making space where everyone feels welcome to be themselves.

When we choose kindness, inclusion, and visibility, we send a clear message to our LGBTIQA+ youth of belonging 💜

Mindfulness isn’t always about meditation or long practices, sometimes it shows up in the small, everyday moments.

Two of our SEVA house team members Michele and Mel had some unexpected visitors in their backyards this week; kookaburras! Their presence, sitting on the fences they turned up on remind us how easy it can be to pause, smile, and really take in what’s around us.

That’s the heart of mindfulness: noticing the little things, slowing down enough to feel connected; whether it’s to the birds, the breeze, or the people beside us.

Those simple pauses can lift our mood, ease our stress, and bring a deeper sense of wellbeing.

We hope you notice these moments throughout your weekend.

Last night, held a bi monthly, special interest group known as Modalities in Maitland, through the Mental Health Professionals Network.

This meetings topic, hosted 2 invited Speakers:
💃Jen Murrell presenting on Dance Therapy gesture
🥾Andi Dickmeyer presenting on Walk and Talk Therapy

Both presentations were engaging and informative - encouraging us as practitioners to bring different elements of therapy into (or out of 🏕️) the clinic room.

With in person and online attendees, we were all encouraged to understand the origins, flexibility and value of dance therapy in client expression as well as the relevance, statistical evidence and beneficial outcomes of taking therapy outdoors with walk and talk therapy.

If you are interested in attending - our next meeting will be held on 1 October with presenting on Process-Oriented Psychology.

Registration is available to all Mental Health Professionals at: https://mhpn.org.au/members/ #/Network/974

New studies show that childhood trauma can rewire the brain and nervous system, leading to lasting changes in emotional regulation and physical health. Areas like the amygdala and prefrontal cortex are deeply affected, often causing anxiety, hypervigilance, or chronic illness in adults. Healing is possible through neuroplasticity and trauma-informed therapies.

The first National Sorry Day was held on 26 May 1998, one year after the Bringing Them Home report was tabled in Parliament. The Bringing Them Home report is a result of a Government Inquiry into the past policies which caused children to be removed from their families and communities in the 20th century.

Following this, in 2000, there was one issue that was high on the agenda at the Sydney Harbour Bridge walk for reconciliation – an apology to the Stolen Generations.

Today, twenty-three years after the Bringing Them Home report and twelve years since the National Apology, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children are still 10.6 times more likely than non-Indigenous children to be removed from their families.

We cannot begin to fix the problems of the present without accepting the truth of our history.

Sorry Day asks us to acknowledge the Stolen Generations, and in doing so, reminds us that historical injustice is still an ongoing source of intergenerational trauma for Aboriginal and Torres Islander families, communities, and peoples.
