NDIS Changes are coming on the 1st July.
Massive cuts are happening across the board, putting our most vulnerable at risk. Families have already experienced cuts and declined services ... but there are more to come, and NDIS has kept this very quiet!

We need to act quickly to ensure these families aren't the collateral of poorly executed funding cuts - without consultation with the disability and health sector services.

Who loves warm porridge on a cold morning? 🙋🏼‍♀️ My kiddos love frozen fruit on top as it cools the porridge down quicker. My favourite is date and walnut. What’s your favourite porridge topper?

Colourful food makes me happy. Eating foods I enjoy, in front of my children, is one way I use positive role modelling in our home. There is no pressure to eat these (my kiddos prefer raw carrot and baked potato). They’re served at the table and anyone is welcome to try. These foods make my body feel good and I enjoy the taste from the oven-roasted caramelisation (opposed to boiled). What foods do you role-model at home, without pressure to eat?

Celebrating World Autism Awareness Month!
Diversity is our strength - not a weakness.
Weakness comes from failure to accept, acknowledge, and to care.
Sending love to all families, regardless of their 'flower type'

“Don’t play with your food”!! ⠀
It’s one of the most common phrases we heard as kids (along with sit still, be quiet, and don’t leave the table until you’ve finished all your dinner). ⠀
â €
Truly wonderful things can happen when we let children explore, touch, poke, smell, and get curious about foods, BEFORE getting to the eating stage. â €
â €
Next time you’re about to repeat the words we we’re told as kids; just wait. Pause. See what happens. ... Maybe even join in on the exploring 🤷‍♀️⠀

🪄Watch the magic happen 🦄

New Foods ... they can be tricky! Especially for younger children where fear or uncertainty around new foods is heightened.
Offering new foods in small amounts and on a regular basis, can help children feel less uncertain about these new foods.
Lowering expectations can also help - including no pressure, force or bribes.
Allow children to explore food in a variety of settings, and at their own pace.

If your child is finding it partcilaurly challenging to try new foods and they only have a limited amount of foods in their diet, it may be helpful to reach out to a health professional, such as your GP and dietitian.
