There have been plenty of happenings at the surgery so an update is well overdue!
We now have a lovely female psychiatrist Dr Aprajita Dharni who sees patients aged 13-65. If you have been seeing a psychiatrist via telehealth this is your opportunity to switch to face to face consultations with a local provider.
We also have a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist commencing in the coming months so stay tuned...
Dr Craig Richards is now conducting ADHD assessments and initiating stimulants in collaboration with a local psychiatrist. Dr Richards is happy to take over the ongoing prescribing of your ADHD medication.
Dr Evelyn Thompson has now retired and Dr Madison Pullen is leaving to take up a position in Occupational Health. GP Dr Julia Gan will be joining the practice in August as will Dr Juliet Archibald, our new Term 1 GP Registrar.
As you would be aware we are facing a storm of respiratory tract infections due to flu, RSV, COVID and mycoplasma. We are actively increasing our on-the-day appointments to meet demand but expect appointments to remain tight over the next 2 weeks. If you are very concerned, please consider GPAccess, HEAL or Maitland ED as alternatives.
Finally, our most exciting news is that we are moving all three buildings into a new custom built medical centre at 8/555 High St, Maitland (adjacent to Genesis Health & Fitness), commencing in late August. This new site will bring all our services under one roof, provide 75 dedicated car spaces and longer term we hope will provide pharmacy and radiology as well as pathology.
We will provide further information about our move over the coming months!
