Chic Taylor didn’t write the song ‘See Me’ to be in the spotlight. She wrote it because too many people still struggle to look past disability and see the person standing in front of them.

It’s a message Chic has been quietly living out for more than three decades – not through speeches or recognition, but by creating spaces where people feel welcome, included and valued for exactly who they are.

These days Chic calls Muswellbrook home, but her life has been shaped by a series of small towns across the region.

💥🦸‍♀️ We are absolutely bursting with pride for our very own superhero — Chic! 🦸‍♀️💥

For over 20 years, this exceptional human has led a program that does one powerful thing: promotes inclusion, opportunity and success for everyone in our community — especially people living with disability.

Time and time again, Chic has shown that with a simple idea, a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears, and an unwavering passion for her community, truly amazing things can happen. The impact she has created reaches far beyond these three days and into the lives of so many families, participants and supporters.

A massive congratulations to Chic and to everyone involved in this year’s InterActs — it was genuinely something very special to be part of. 👏

We already can’t wait for next year… no doubt it will be even bigger, brighter and just as inspiring! 💫💙

Our participants have well and truly been getting into the Christmas spirit this week! ❤️✨

From visiting Santa 🎅, cooking parties in the kitchen 👩‍🍳, hunting for Christmas lights 🌟, to simply enjoying time together — it’s been pure festive joy.

Only 2 more sleeps until the big day… and we’re soaking up every magical moment 🎄💫

What a special Christmas Drums Alive session! 🎄🥁
Participants and HDS staff absolutely lit up the room, drumming along to everyone’s favourite festive classics. So much joy, rhythm, laughter and Christmas spirit. ❤️✨
