Today is International Asperger’s Day!

Asperger’s is a form of autism that affects how people experience the world, communicate, and connect with others. Everyone’s experience is unique, and understanding these differences helps us build more inclusive communities.

At Link to Life, we celebrate neurodiversity and support people to thrive on their own terms, embracing strengths, individuality, and choice.

Happy Valentine’s Day! 💖

Love doesn’t have just one shape or story; it can be romantic, platonic, familial, or the love we have for ourselves. Today, we celebrate all the ways love shows up in our lives, big and small.

Whether it’s a hug from a friend, quality time with family, or simply taking a moment to care for yourself, love is everywhere!

Myth: Disability support is one-size-fits-all.
Busted: Everyone’s goals, needs and strengths are different and that’s why individualised support is at the heart of what we do.

At Link to Life, we tailor support to help each person live life on their terms.

Understanding what the NDIS can and can’t fund can be confusing but it’s important for getting the support you need!

Funded supports are things that help you pursue your goals and participate in daily life, like:

Assistance with daily activities

Therapy and allied health services

Equipment that helps you move or communicate

Community participation programs

Not funded are things considered everyday living costs or unrelated to your disability, such as:

Rent or mortgage

Food and groceries

Utilities or internet

Luxury items or hobbies not linked to your goals

The key is that NDIS funding supports reasonable and necessary needs that help you live your life more independently, safely, and fully. Please reach out to our team if you need help with it, we know it can get confusing.

It’s Self-Care Sunday! We asked Kurt how he unwound.

For Kurt, it’s all about getting moving whether that’s hitting the weights, going for a run, or a walk along the beach. Sometimes, it’s just chilling with friends and family. On repeat at the moment is Return of the Mack by Mark Morrison, and his show of choice Vikings on Netflix when he needs to switch off.

Self-care looks different for everyone, what’s your go-to way to recharge?

At Link to Life, our values shape how we show up for the people and communities we support.

We believe in growth creating opportunities to learn, build confidence and move forward at every stage of life. We lead with integrity, acting honestly, respectfully and always in the best interests of those we support. We honour intersectionality, recognising that every person’s experience is unique and shaped by many parts of their identity. And above all, we value connection because meaningful support starts with genuine relationships and a sense of belonging.

These values aren’t just what we stand for they’re how we work, every day.

Physical Disability Awareness Day is about learning, understanding and challenging assumptions.

Physical disabilities can be visible or invisible, temporary or lifelong and they don’t define a person’s ability, ambition or potential. What truly makes the difference is access, support and inclusive communities.

At Link to Life, we’re proud to support people to live independently, build confidence and participate fully in the life they choose.

Awareness leads to understanding. Understanding leads to inclusion.

A strong routine creates clarity, confidence, and independence. When expectations are clear, people can focus less on uncertainty and more on building skills, making choices, and reaching their goals.
