Come and relax and rejuvenate your whole being! This year I will be running one yoga class during school terms on Wednesdays from 9-10:30am. This class will be a serene, nurturing eclectic mix of mindful based yoga which is designed to be practised by people of all abilities, all fitness levels and all age groups. We will take the time to appropriately align the postures for your OWN body, enjoy some soft flowing movements and also some directed breathing and visualisation. Yoga With Jo works on body, mind and spirit—improving strength and flexibility, creating core stability while immersing yourself in a relaxing class that is perfect for stress relief and overall well being. We will be practicing some sweet backbends this week, including the LOCUST pose (pictured) with the option of the stronger BOW pose. These amazing asanas are energizing and helps to reduce tiredness, stress and anxiety!

These poses help to improve our posture and promotes better alignment. They also engage the abdominal muscles, helping to build core strength and spinal support while opening the chest and shoulders. By opening the chest and deepening the breath, it can help activate the parasympathetic nervous system.

*PLEASE NOTE- we are back in the hall this week*

I’ve loved spending time with family and friends back in the beautiful desert country.
While visiting I also enjoyed some glorious yoga classes, reminding me again why I love this practice so deeply🧡 I hope my classes allow you to leave feeling the same connection 🙏

Yoga starts THIS Wednesday, 23rd July for 10 weeks!
(*please note that for the first few weeks we are unable to use the hall due to the kitchen renovations. We are blessed to have been offered another sacred space to practice in so please use the front door of the church- you will see my sign on the door)

Last week during my celebration of my 10 years teaching journey, I was so humbled and grateful💛

THANK YOU to my wonderful friend Nicky who made it possible for us to hold this yoga session in the most beautiful, peaceful place. Thanks also to Kylie from Little KaPut candles for your help with the delightful fragrant, handcrafted yoga gifts💛

But mostly I wanted to say thank you to YOU-
YOU who has come to one class or fifty
YOU who has been with me from the start or has just recently joined the journey
YOU who continues to support my love of yoga and wellbeing
🙏thank YOU from the bottom of my heart!

If by chance I have allowed you to find a snippet of peace; a release, a connection, an escape for just a moment, or if during our yoga sessions you have allowed yourself to tap into some stillness and you have left feeling lighter, better…

Then my job is done.

My cup is full.

I am truly, deeply blessed.

This week will be our last yoga session for this term🙏

We will be revisiting the mighty Warrior, Downward Facing Dog (or for modification- CAT asana) and Bridge poses. You will then be introduced to a fabulous new variation of COBRA (always with modifications to suit everyBODY)!

This pose has many physical benefits:
~Opens the shoulder blades, neck, and collar bones
~Improves spinal posture, flexibility, and alignment
~Reduces back pain
~Improves circulation
~Opens the lungs
~Stimulates the abdominal and digestive organs, improving digestion
~Massages and regulates the adrenal and thyroid glands

As well as its physical benefits, the Cobra Pose helps calm the nervous system, supporting emotional balance, mental clarity, and a deeper sense of focus🙏

I am looking forward to sharing a Wintery Warmer Yoga This Week! ❄️🧘‍♀️

As the temperatures drop, we’re turning up the inner warmth with a cozy, grounding practice on Wednesday...

🧘‍♀️Introducing "The Beam" (Gate Pose) – a beautiful side stretch to open up space and energy through the body.
🧘‍♀️Cat Posture Variations – a few different plays on our restorative cat pose to awaken and mobilize the spine.
🧘‍♀️Mini Moon Sequence – a gentle, flowing sequence to tap into calm, lunar energy (yes, I've gone rogue again😂 and 'invented' my own simple mini moon sequence) based on Vinyasa Flow
🧘‍♀️Sama Vritti (Equal Breathing) – we’ll finish with this calming pranayama to leave you centered and steady.

Wrap up warm, bring your layers and let's flow with the season💛

As women, we all need time for deep rest in order to renew. As we support our yoga poses, our bodies begin to release, our breath deepens, and our minds begin to quiet. This internal focus deeply
nourishes our energy and connects us with the earth🩷

This month marks TEN YEARS since I started teaching yoga in Maitland!

As a few of you may know, I started teaching yoga in our lovely 'Yoga Room' next to our home. This dear old room became a little too small with growing numbers (remember🤪?!) so we moved to the Uniting Church Hall a few years ago where classes are currently held.

My mission is to continue to share the wonderful benefits of yoga in a lovely, inclusive space to enhance overall health & wellbeing❤️

I love my yoga & I love my beautiful yoga community so thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to share with you. I would not be still sharing yoga if it wasn't for you all.❤️

Classes start back next Wednesday (30th April) for an 8 week block. The last class for the term will be on June 18th, with a little 10 year Anniversary celebration, so save the date!❤️

Our Story

In 2008 when I moved to the beautiful Yorke Peninsula, I started doing yoga. I immediately fell in love with this ancient practice that blissfully benefits the body, mind and soul,,, I loved the way it made me feel, both inside and out.

Wanting to further my knowledge, I began my 3 year Teacher Training in 2012. I have then since completed 2 Yoga Kids courses to compliment my school teaching background. Yoga is now one of my great passions in life. I aim to not only share it with the people in my community but also to teach the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to the children and teens throughout the peninsula.
