๐ŸŽจโœจ Colour us happy this Feel Good Friday!

Early Links, a division of ConnectAbility, is proud to be part of an organisation supporting people across all stages of life through disability services like supported independent living, plan management, community access, our Warabrook Hub day program, support coordination, and many more.

This Feel Good Friday, weโ€™re celebrating our Supported Independent Living customers, who recently joined a local colour run - raising funds to support Wheeling & Able, another local charity helping families of children with physical disabilities access equipment, assistive technology and resources for greater independence and wellbeing.

๐ŸŒˆOne of the highlights (aside from being sprayed with vibrant colour and laughing incredibly hard!) was connecting with the lovely team at Piggotts Pharmacy Merewether, who gifted everyone colourful wands. ๐Ÿ’œ

A beautiful reminder that strong community connections can really brighten the day, and our customers had an absolute blast waving their way through all the colour and fun! ๐ŸŽ‰

Check out all our services at connectability.org.au, earlylinks.org.au and findingyellow.org.au and get in touch today on 02 4962 1000 to talk to our friendly staff.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸณTuesday afternoons at ConnectAbility's Early Links Ashtonfield clinic have never been busier with our Dietitian-led cooking and nutrition program, Little Chefโ€™s Club! ๐Ÿซถ

Over the past few weeks, our Little Chefs have explored different foods and buit their confidence in the kitchen.๐Ÿ˜Ž From decorating their aprons to creating delicious dishes like meatballs, pancakes, and colourful veggie plates, itโ€™s been wonderful to see their skills and enthusiasm grow each week.

Our dietitians have loved watching them develop independence, try new foods, and engage with their peers in a fun and supportive environment.

๐Ÿ’œInterested in joining Little Chefโ€™s Club?
Designed for 6-12yo children, the program focuses on building confidence with food, developing practical cooking skills, and encouraging positive mealtime experiences in a fun, supportive group setting.

Spots are limited though! Would you like your child to be part of future groups? Simply visit surveymonkey.com/r/X8VHKWP and our team will be in touch with information about upcoming programs.

Learn more about... Iron for Kids ๐Ÿฅ„๐Ÿ’ช

Iron is essential for growing bodies! It helps carry oxygen in the blood and supports energy, brain development, and overall growth. What if your child isnโ€™t a fan of iron-rich foods, though? Donโ€™t worry - there are plenty of ways to meet their needs.๐Ÿ‘‡

๐Ÿณ Iron-Rich Foods They Might Already Love: Eggs, fortified cereals, fortified bread, whole grains, and even snacks like hummus, milo, and nut butters pack a good iron punch!

๐ŸŠ Boost Absorption: Pair iron-rich foods with vitamin C (like citrus fruits, berries, or capsicum) to help their bodies absorb the iron better.

๐Ÿ’ก Signs of Iron Deficiency: If your child seems unusually tired, irritable, pale, has a decreased appetite or gets sick often, these could be signs of low iron. Always check with your doctor if youโ€™re concerned about their iron levels.

Think our dietetics team could help you or your family? Give us a call on 02 4962 1000 to find out more, or take a look at our services and meet the team at www.earlylinks.org.au

๐Ÿ˜€This is what community funding looks like when it turns into something real.๐Ÿ’œ

Thanks to a $5,000 grant from Glencore Ravensworth Operations, we have been able to strengthen our therapeutic spaces at our ConnectAbility encompassing Early Links space at Muswellbrook with new equipment and room upgrades that are already supporting children and families.

This funding helped us further improve spaces used for play, cooking groups, physiotherapy and play therapy, creating environments that are more welcoming, more functional, and better equipped for meaningful therapeutic work.๐Ÿซถ

๐ŸŒŸFor children and families, this means better experiences, stronger engagement and spaces that support connection, regulation, confidence and growth.

A genuine thank you to Glencore Ravensworth Operations for investing in practical support that is now making a visible difference in our community. For more information, check out our services at earlylinks.org.au and call us on 02 4962 1000.
