Ben is one of our amazing Support Coordinators

With a background in Criminal Justice, Ben brings unique experience and understanding to his role, especially when working with participants connected to the justice system.

Ben helps ensure that your NDIS supports continue, even if you’re involved in legal proceedings or transitioning out of custody. He focuses on keeping your plan active, your supports coordinated, and communication clear between all the right people, such as legal representatives, community corrections, and reintegration teams.

When it’s time to plan for release or reconnect with your community, Ben helps set up the right supports for a smoother, more stable transition, from housing and mental health to employment and daily living.

We believe everyone deserves continuity, support, and a fresh start.

Who can use Short Term Respite (STR)?

Short Term Respite gives carers and participants a break while ensuring the person with disability continues to receive the support they need. However, it’s only funded by the NDIS if it directly relates to a participant’s disability support needs.

You may be eligible if you:
- Live with or receive daily drop-in support from your primary informal supports (like family).
- Receive more than 6 hours of disability-related support from them each day.
- And at least one of the following applies:
You have high-intensity or complex medical/behavioural needs.
You need specialist behaviour intervention or complex care.
You live in an area where in-home supports are limited.
Your carer’s wellbeing or ability to continue providing care is at risk.

STR is not available for participants who:
Don’t live with family or informal supports.
Already receive extensive paid support (like SIL or ILO).
Have consistent care from paid support workers.
Are children (except in limited cases).

To learn more or check your eligibility, speak with your Support Coordinator or visit https://ndis.gov.au/our-guidelines -term-respite

This Remembrance Day, we pause to remember.

We honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve in defence of our country and our freedom.

As we observe the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we take a moment to reflect on their bravery, resilience, and the lasting legacy of peace they fought to protect.

Lest we forget.

Choosing the Right NDIS Providers

Selecting the right service providers is one of the most important decisions you’ll make in your NDIS journey. It’s essential to choose organisations that act in your best interests and avoid any conflicts of interest.

The updated NDIS Pricing Arrangements highlight provider responsibilities, ensuring transparency, quality service delivery, and genuine participant choice and control.

Our Support Coordinators can help you research providers, compare options, and negotiate service agreements so you can feel confident in your decisions and supported every step of the way.

Tips You Can Use to Look After Your Mental Health

Small daily steps, big impact.

Here are some practices you can try during Mental Health Month (and beyond):

Check in with yourself - ask, “How do I feel today?”
Move your body, walk, stretch, dance, physical activity helps your mood.
Rest & sleep - good sleep is foundational for mental health.
Mind your diet & hydration - food and water affect brain function.
Limit social media / screen time - take breaks when it feels overwhelming.
Creative outlets - journaling, art, music help express your inner world.
Set small, achievable goals - clarity and progress, even in little things.
Breathe & pause - short mindfulness breaks or breathing exercises can ground you.
Reach out, talk to a friend, family or professional when things feel heavy.
Celebrate your wins , even small ones, and be gentle with yourself.

Let’s make mental wellbeing a habit, not just a campaign.
