There is nothing quite like a State of Origin themed BBQ to bring the team together over some friendly rivalry๐Ÿ”ต๐Ÿ”ด

Today, our CEO John Cleary fired up the BBQs at our Telarah site for our CEO BBQ, treating participants and staff from across our sites to a delicious lunch and a whole lot of fun.

Participants also took part in a fun game of finding hidden State of Origin themes pictures of John around the site with prizes won for each picture found, which was definitely a crowd favourite!

It was a wonderful opportunity for our teams from across sites to come together, connect and share a great meal ๐Ÿ’›

We're looking forward to the game tonight ๐Ÿ‰

What a wonderful morning at our NDIS Pathways Showcase yesterday! ๐ŸŽ‰

We opened the doors at our John Street, Telarah facility and welcomed the community in to see our programs up close.

From creative arts and music to mindful making and beyond, it was a great opportunity to show what life at Mai-Wel really looks like.

Thank you to everyone who came along, asked questions and took the time to connect with our team and participants๐Ÿ’›

Today is National Sorry Day ๐Ÿงก

We pause to acknowledge the Stolen Generations, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, and to honour the strength and resilience of survivors and their families.

Healing and reconciliation are ongoing. We hold space for that today with respect and humility.

Mindful Making is one of our favourite Social, Community and Creative Pathways programs, and it is easy to see why ๐ŸŽจ

Participants choose their own activities together, exploring how art, craft and movement can be used as a tool for wellbeing through creative practice. With a focus on budgeting and trying new things, it is a creative, supportive space where participants can grow at their own pace.

Participants access a welcoming environment where they can explore mindfulness, meet new people and discover what making things can do for their overall wellbeing.

It is a great fit for anyone who enjoys crafting, creating and connecting with others in a supported, centre-based environment.

Tony's Cruise to Tasmania! ๐Ÿšขโœจ

Tony recently achieved one of his major goals. Over the past 12 months, Tony worked alongside his Mai-Wel Home and Living Pathways (HaLP) support team to plan and book his very own cruise to Tasmania, building the skills and confidence to get there independently.

From researching and budgeting to booking his activities and paying for everything himself, every step of the journey was his own!

The trip itself did not disappoint. Tony relaxed by the pool, joined a minibus excursion through Hobart, Mount Wellington and the historic convict-built town of Richmond, and enjoyed karaoke, live music and incredible food along the way.

Supporting participants to set meaningful goals and work toward them at their own pace is at the heart of what Mai-Wel's HaLP does, and Tony's achievement is a wonderful example of exactly that๐Ÿ’›

We are pleased to advise that our Mayfield site has reopened for normal operations.

Following a positive assessment from the relevant agencies managing the nearby post-fire response, authorities have deemed the area suitable for staff, participants and visitors to return and access restrictions have been lifted.

Thank you to everyone for their patience, flexibility and understanding over the past few days. We appreciate your support while safety assessments were underway ๐Ÿ’›
