Toby took on a new skill in the kitchen and absolutely rose to the challenge 🍪✨

He helped make and pipe French macarons for a Mai-Wel event, practising consistency, hand pressure and accuracy while piping each shell onto the trays. After baking, he paired each shell, piped the buttercream filling and finished each macaron with care.

The best part? As someone who is gluten intolerant, this was a rare treat he could enjoy. Toby was so proud he took some home for his nan and dad to try.

A brilliant blend of skill building, creativity and confidence. Well done, Toby! 🙌

Gabby appears proudly on the front cover of our 2024/2025 Annual Report✨

Her photo was captured during the I AM... Walls That Talk art exhibition, which showcased the creativity and talent of our artists through striking, hand crafted headpieces. It was a standout moment from 2024 and an important part of this year’s report.

Today, our CEO John asked Gabby to sign his copy, creating a meaningful keepsake for them both!

This has been a special highlight for Gabby and something she is very proud of 💙

🎉💃 Tuesday Ladies Night pulled off their end-of-year Christmas dinner in style!

After weeks of planning menus, budgeting, shopping and practice runs in the kitchen, the group hosted their own festive feast and served it to perfection. The night brought together skills in meal prep, teamwork, hosting and presentation, with plenty of laughs along the way.

On the menu was:
🔥 Roast chicken
🔥 Veggie medley
🔥 Peas, dinner rolls and gravy
🔥 Chocolate Bombay puddings with custard and ice cream

The table looked stunning, spirits were high, and everyone had a brilliant night together🎄

Creativity is already sparking across our studios as we step into a new year🎨

Through Mai-Wel’s Social, Community and Creative Pathways programs, participants are exploring art in ways that build confidence, expression and connection.

From painting and drawing to textiles, digital art and mixed media, each individual is encouraged to experiment, develop their own style and create in a supportive space designed for possibilities.

Whether it is trying a new technique, working on a project or creating alongside friends, the studio continues to be a place where ideas grow and individuality shines.

Purple fields and big smiles 💜

Our participants had an incredible day out at the Hunter Lavender Farm as part of our Connect to Community Support program.

We aren’t just sight-seeing though. We’re working hard on our goals of exploring new environments and staying active in our local community.

The highlight of the day was the stamp hunt! Everyone loved wandering through the rows of lavender to track down every last stamp for their collection.

We’re so proud of the confidence and engagement shown today. Onward to the next adventure! 🚜✨

Congratulations to Jayden from our Transition to Work (TtW) program and Sheree from Mai-Wel Academy on successfully completing their First Aid training! ✅

As part of the course, they practised applying a compression bandage for snake or spider bites on their Job Coach, Natalie Jones, building confidence through hands-on learning.

Both Jayden and Sheree showed great enthusiasm throughout the course, demonstrating teamwork, focus, and a genuine commitment to learning. Their new First Aid qualifications are an important step in preparing for future employment opportunities and ensuring safety in any workplace.

Well done, Jayden and Sheree. Your effort has paid off 👏

Caleb is kicking goals at Mai-Wel Enterprises 🙌

He works on a piece-by-piece SIM card recycling task, sorting and checking each item so it is ready for responsible processing. Recently he completed an extra 350 SIM cards in one week, showing just how far focus and consistency can go!

Beyond the numbers, Caleb is building confidence, independence and workplace readiness.

We are so proud of his progress and the pride he brings to the job.

Declan has started work experience at Mai-Wel Enterprises, trimming garments supplied by SHARKSKIN. He was keen to try this pathway after learning about the brand and drawing on a family connection to the trade through his mum, who worked as a seamstress.

Across his first shifts, Declan moved from a careful, slow pace to a quicker yet precise rhythm with the scissors. He is also learning core industry skills, including quality checks for logos and faults, understanding basic seaming, and how to clean and handle different fabrics.

This early experience is helping Declan test his interest in the industry, build confidence with tools and techniques, and decide whether he wants to follow his mum’s path into garment work. Great effort, Declan. 👏
