A large-scale project delivered in partnership between Pacific National and Varley Group has proudly been supported by the team at Mai-Wel Enterprises ๐Ÿš†

Our supported employees contributed to key components of the wagon restoration project, working with precision and care to ensure everything met high quality standards. Yesterday, members of the team had the opportunity to visit the Varley site and see the some of pieces come together on the wagons, which was a proud moment for everyone involved!

Being able to witness the finished outcome reinforced the value of their work and the important role social enterprise plays in large industry partnerships.

Projects like this demonstrate the capability, reliability and skill of our workforce, while creating meaningful employment opportunities.

Thank you to Pacific National for partnering with Mai-Wel Enterprises and supporting inclusive employment in action ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‘‹ Meet Danielle Jacobs, a Job Coach with our Mai-Wel Academy team.

Danielle first came into the disability sector through a Plan Manager role and quickly discovered a passion for supporting people. Moving into face-to-face participant support confirmed she was exactly where she was meant to be!

A recent highlight was seeing an Academy Prep participant gain employment with a business Danielle had approached about work experience. Watching that partnership turn into a real job and seeing the participantโ€™s confidence grow made it a proud moment.

โ€œ๐˜๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜—๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ด๐˜ช๐˜ฃ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆโ€ in Danielleโ€™s work looks like building strong community links with local businesses and creating practical pathways through programs like Academy Prep and Friday Social. She values consistent groups where people feel comfortable, friendships grow and supports can be tailored to each person.

Danielle also loves using simple online learning tools to keep sessions engaging and matched to each participantโ€™s interests. After work, she switches off with a walk with her border collie Molly or some baking in the kitchen ๐Ÿพ

Our participants have been making the most of the outdoors, trying new things and building confidence along the way โ˜€๏ธ

๐ŸŒŠ Nicholas and Lochy, along with other participants in our Be Active program, enjoyed a refreshing day at the ocean pools. The Be Active program continues to create opportunities for participants to engage in movement in ways that feel safe, enjoyable and empowering.

๐Ÿš† Bill requested to go on a train ride during his 1:1 day in the community. He tapped on with his Opal card, waited patiently on the platform and enjoyed watching the world go by as he travelled to Newcastle. After enjoying his packed lunch, he headed back to Telarah Station, and the day was made even more special when he met the train driver, Bob.

๐ŸŽฃ John and Tom enjoyed a relaxed afternoon fishing, with fresh air, good company and a proud moment reeling in a fish. There were plenty of smiles and lots of laughs while they enjoyed being outdoors and giving something new a go๐ŸŸ

Outings like these support important goals for our participants, accessing the community, remaining active and building confidence. We love seeing goals in action and participants enjoying their community ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐ŸคEmployment support works best when people feel safe, respected, and believed, especially when they are navigating change, confidence dips, or past experiences that have made it harder to ask for help.

Thatโ€™s why it meant so much to hear a participant describe our Inclusive Employment Australia team as "๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜๐˜„๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ต๐˜†".

We earn participant trust through consistent check-ins, honest conversations, and real follow-through over time.

In 2025, Mai-Wel delivered more than 386,000 hours of NDIS support ๐Ÿ’™

What does that mean in real terms? Thousands of everyday moments where participants were supported to work towards their goals, in ways that suit them โœจ

These are the hours our teams spend delivering direct NDIS supports with participants. That support can look like building daily living skills, getting out into the community, trying something new, strengthening confidence, and having the right support in place to take the next step.

This figure reflects NDIS delivery only and does not include the hours delivered through our non-NDIS services, supporting young people, parents and carers, and job seekers to work towards their goals.

Weโ€™re proud of what sits behind this number: people showing up, making progress, and being supported to live a life that feels more connected, more capable, and more their own.

โœจDavid recently set himself a big creative goal: to design and sew a wearable cosplay cape inspired by Doom Eternal.

With support through Mai-Welโ€™s Open Studio program, he turned that idea into a finished, high-quality piece he can proudly wear!

When he started, garment making felt overwhelming. David had no prior sewing experience, and the materials, machines and techniques were all new. Working alongside an art mentor, he broke the project into clear, achievable steps and built his skills one stage at a time.

We are so proud of what David has achieved๐ŸŽจ

Lily House was full and fun on the weekend, with everyone working together to make it a great day โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿก

Residents got stuck into household chores, enjoyed morning tea with a visitor and made time for a little pampering too. Self-care and personal presentation are an important part of daily living, and it was lovely to see everyone feeling relaxed and proud.

Lily House has also been navigating some big changes recently, welcoming new housemates. The ladies have been incredibly welcoming and have shown real flexibility as the household begins a new chapter๐Ÿ’›
