A handy reminder to help everyone support & understand possible differences. If you don’t get a reaction expected it is genuinely helpful to consider both neurodivergent and neurotypical responses. Everyone doing their best just looks different 💝

Christmas can be an anxious time for neurodivergent kids for plenty of reasons. Opening presents can be one of them.

All abilities and all ages are impacted by increased temperatures to varying degrees. Please take good care of yourself and perhaps check in with friends, family or neighbours whom may be vulnerable to the impacts of current high temperatures

Our ‘best’ will look different on different days/ in different conditions.

Be gentle with yourself and others today - knowing the current heat (dehydration, fatigue, temperature regulation challenges) may impact what ‘best’ looks like today.

This week, we're expecting warmer than average temperatures across parts of Queensland. 🥵

Severe heat can make you feel sick. Heat-related illness can also be dangerous and, in some cases, deadly.

Symptoms you may experience include feeling dizzy, having a headache, nausea, wanting to drink water, or even vomiting. 🤒

Here’s how to keep you and your family safe:
💧 drink 6-8 glasses of water each day
📱 check in on loved ones regularly (especially older adults and pregnant women)
🏃‍♂️ avoid heavy exercise during the hottest parts of the day (11am - 3pm)
🌬️ keep cool in air conditioning or find a shaded or cool spot to rest
😎 be sun safe (wear a hat, sunglasses, long sleeves and apply sunscreen every two hours).

👉 Call 13 HEALTH for medical advice or visit your doctor
👉 In an emergency, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
