The wonderful winter winds have kicked up in the subtropical hinterland and the pollen is flyin’!
So I’ll repost my yearly hay fever management advice and hopefully provide you with a few ways to feel better faster.
Start with dusting and vacuuming and washing all bed linens.
Change any air filters .
* Eat local honey and honeycomb This decreases sensitivity to pollens..
If it’s grass pollens that give you most grief limit wheat carrots and tomatoes.
If Ragweed is your nemesis reduce or eliminate zucchini, cucumber, melon (they share a common allergen with ragweed).
Eat plenty of garlic - it’s antibiotic properties can prevent congestion.
Eat ginger as it is anti inflammatory and will help with symptoms.
Drink it in a few cups of fenugreek tea a day and you’ll feel better sooner (throat cleanser, mucus solvent, clears congestion).
If you have a neti pot have at it… or pick up a saline spray to rinse nasal passages - really helps.
Lastly, drink your nettles. It’s not that tasty so add it to juice. Fresh nettle juice is a great natural antihistamine.
Feel better soon… I’m off to take my own advice and start my winter clean (thieves oil for mould, visible and otherwise).
