The Munupi Clan from the Tiwi Islands win landmark case over Santos’ approvals to drill precious Tiwi Sea Country!

The Federal Court of Australia has found that Santos failed to consult Traditional Owners as required.

Tiwi Senior Lawman Dennis Tipakalippa sued NOPSEMA over its approval of Santos’ offshore drilling plans in Tiwi Sea Country, alleging proper consultation did not occur.

“This is a huge victory for the Munupi Clan and a testament to their strength and dedication in the face of one of the biggest mining companies in the country.
