Grounding at Sunrise.

There’s a reason you feel different after being by the sea.
Not just relaxed but clearer, lighter, calmer.

When you step into the ocean, your body reconnects with the Earth’s natural electrical field.
The Earth holds a gentle negative charge, and salt water rich in sodium, magnesium, potassium and chloride is one of the best conductors of it.
When your skin touches the sea, electrons flow into your body.
This is called grounding.

Your nervous system, heart and brain all run on electrical signals.

This is where the healing journey begins. Yes sunrise, but there is more to it than just getting your circadian signaling in tune. It’s to do with grounding. Standing on this beach in El Salvador with the black volcanic sand provides the best environment for grounding. At dawn ions from the ocean flow, standing barefoot on this sand allows the free electrons to move into the body to reverse inflammation from years of chronic stress. Only after one week my aches and pains are reducing and my sleep is improving. No supplements, no drugs just nature and being in rhythm with her. I’m inspired for the year ahead, I hope you are too.

Fasting is not for everyone, it depends what state your metabolism is in, especially your leptin sensitivity.

Leptin is your circadian hormone that signals how much stored energy you have.

Leptin regulates your appetite and co-ordinates your metabolism with light/dark cycles.

When your meal timing and circadian rhythm is out of sync you become leptin resistant.
Signs that you might be leptin resistant:

- Constant hunger
- Sugar cravings
- Waking up in the middle of the night hungry.
- High blood sugar, insulin, triglycerides and CRP. hormonal imbalances

In this state:
Fasting = energy depletion = starvation

Your body panics, cortisol spikes and blood sugar drops like a stone in water.

Instead of burning fat you need carbs to lift you back up and you become hooked on carbs.
The solution is not more fasting to stimulate autophagy.

The solution is restoring leptin sensitivity and AMPK activation (your cells energy sensor).

This means creating the right habits and environment for your cells to function optimally as nature intended.
