📣📣personal letter to patients from Dr Burford 📣📣

I wish to inform my patients with some regret, that I have now retired from my work at Mallala Docs. Due to physical illness the time is right.

I have enjoyed my 15 + years here, as we all grew and aged together! This has been a satisfying journey for me, and I humbly thank you for trusting me with the health care of your babies, children and families.

One thing I can’t stop is our ageing!! I have enjoyed caring and helping the elder people of the community as they faced this potentially more challenging stage of life.
I will genuinely miss our relationships and mutual hugs!

Thankyou to my patients and community for your friendships and support. I have valued this and I do hope to keep personally connected with many of you.

Cystic fibrosis (CF) primarily affects the lungs and digestive system because of a malfunction in the exocrine system that’s responsible for producing saliva, sweat, tears and mucus. Babies born today with CF can expect to live well into adulthood. There is currently no cure, but advances in treatment and care are helping people better manage their CF.

While significant progress has been made, especially with the introduction of new modulators and treatments in recent years, it’s essential to recognize that not everyone in our community has access to, is eligible for, or responds well to these advancements.
Our job is not done until every individual with CF has access to the care and treatment tailored to their unique needs. While our ultimate goal is to find a cure, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that ALL individuals in our community have access to the treatment and care necessary to live full, valuable lives without the burden of disease.

We would like to wish all mothers a special Day this Sunday. May you get a sleep in and get spoilt like you deserve.

Dr Gurpreet is back as of today 8/4/25. We thank you for your patience while he was away.
Please note that Dr Burford will be away from 10/4/25 - 27/4/25 we will be open 9-12 Monday - Friday with Dr Gurpreet consulting only. Nurse also available Monday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings.
