🎥 Tahlequah 🐎

Dr Robin recently treated the beautiful movie-star horse Tahlequah for a deep corneal ulcer. Luckily, we were able to heal the eye with medical management and avoid surgery; getting Tahlequah back to photoshoot ready and maintaining vision with minimal scarring.

Not only is he a star patient, but also an ambassador for 🌟

😎 Fashion and eyecare! 😎

This is the lovely Fleur, and her sunglasses are not only super stylish, but also serve a purpose!

Fleur has iris atrophy, an age related degeneration of the iris, which can cause sensitivity to bright light.
👁Our iris is what constricts to form our pupil, adapting to the brightness of our environment to let more or less light in. Wearing sunglasses or special dog goggles can help our patients who are sensitive to bright light have more fun outside and live a happy normal life!🌿

🐶 Meet Squishy! 🐶

Squishy is a lovely 7 month old pug that we have all had the pleasure of cuddling everytime she visits. She underwent surgery to correct her puppy entropion and has been a star patient. Entropion is a condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing the hairs to rub on the surface of the eye, which can lead to discomfort and corneal ulcerations. Through surgery, our team corrected the shape and position of Squishy's eyelids and now she is living a happy life with healthy eyes.

🌼 Happy Thursday, everyone!
Meet Daisy — a sweet 6-month-old Bernese Mountain Dog who came to see Dr. Jonathan Chin in late March due to ongoing eye issues. 👀🐶
After a thorough consultation, Daisy was diagnosed with entropion in both eyelids — a condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing the lashes to rub against the eyeball, which can be very uncomfortable. 😣
Daisy had corrective surgery and is doing amazingly well! 🎉
Today was her 2nd post-op checkup with Dr. Jonathan, and we’re so pleased with her progress. We’ll see this beautiful girl again in 4 weeks!
Keep healing, Daisy — we’re all rooting for you! 💕🐾

🐶 Happy Hump Day, Everyone!
Meet little Hazel — an adorable 5-month-old Bulldog who came in to see Dr. Robin Stanley with a case of cherry eye in her left eye. 👁️💕
Cherry eye occurs when the gland of the third eyelid prolapses and becomes visible, often causing discomfort and irritation. To help Hazel feel her best, we performed a procedure to remove the pr*****ed gland and relieve her discomfort.
We’re happy to report that Hazel is doing great, and this sweet photo was taken at her post-op appointment! 💖
Wishing Hazel and her wonderful family all the best as she continues to heal and grow! 🐾✨

🐾 Good Morning Everyone! ☀️
Meet Tiny McFly—who, despite the name, isn’t so tiny! 💪💕 Tiny is spending the day with us at Animal Eye Care for a few important procedures to help her feel and see better.
👁️ Today she’s having:
Conjunctival Mass Removal & Cryotherapy (Left Eye): We’re removing an abnormal growth on her eye’s conjunctiva (the pink tissue around the eye). To help prevent regrowth, we’re also applying cryotherapy (a freezing treatment) to the area.
Entropion Surgery (Right Eye): This corrects a condition where the eyelid turns inward, causing lashes to rub against the eye—ouch! This procedure will help relieve irritation and protect her eye long-term.
Tiny is currently relaxing before surgery, and we can’t wait to keep you updated on her recovery over the next 10–14 days. 🐶💖
Stay tuned for her post-op glow-up!

🌸 Bella’s Journey: A Story of Strength and Healing 🌸
We want to share the incredible story of our beloved 13-year-old Japanese Spitz, Bella, who has been through quite a journey this past month.
Early in March, Bella came to us because she was having trouble seeing. As a senior dog, it’s not uncommon for vision issues to develop, but we knew we needed to figure out exactly what was going on to help her. After a thorough consultation and diagnostic testing, Bella was diagnosed with a combination of eye conditions that were affecting her sight.
1. Right Eye: Bella had Senile Nuclear Sclerosis, which is a normal part of aging where the lens in the eye starts to harden and cloud over time. This isn’t usually a cause for alarm, but it can cause some vision changes. Along with this, Bella had a small cataract developing on the back of her lens. While it wasn’t too severe at the moment, it was something that needed to be addressed to prevent further vision loss.
2. Left Eye: The situation with Bella’s left eye was more concerning. She had Intumescent Cataracts, meaning the cataract in her left eye was not only clouding her vision but was also swollen, causing more serious issues. This led to Lens-induced Uveitis, which is inflammation inside the eye caused by the lens. To make matters more complicated, Bella also had Keratitis, which is an inflammation of the cornea. Together, these conditions were significantly impacting her vision, and we knew something had to be done to improve her quality of life.
Fast forward to today, and we are thrilled to share that Bella is doing amazing! She’s here for her 2nd post-op check-up, and we couldn’t be more proud of how far she’s come. Bella is bright, alert, and showing so much energy, just like her usual happy self. Her eyes are healing beautifully, and we can already see a difference in her behavior — she’s back to being more playful and interactive! 🐾💖
