This morning was cold. It was raining. It was dark. But I have a half marathon to run on Sunday. It will be dark. It will possibly be raining. So I got out of the car and started jogging slowly. I started to feel ok. So I jogged a bit more and a little faster. I started to feel even better. About 5mins later, I was enjoying myself and it didn’t bother me that it was drizzling. 5mins. That’s all it took to go from “I don’t want to do this” to “I fell great, I really should do this more often in the dark”.
The peacefulness of running early in the morning is wonderful for stress relief. Even better was the rainbow at the end 🌈. And the hot shower afterwards, well that was super rewarding! I now have the day ahead of me to work, pack and get ready for my trip, and I feel good about it. What 5min activity can you do today to get your blood flowing? This morning was a 25min walk/run followed by a 20min bodyweight workout for me 😎

Completed my first parkrun today! 😎 My watch also says that I completed 5km in just under 30mins so pretty stoked to hit my goal for the year! (And just in time to end the year…!) 😁🤩

Also big congrats to one of my clients who also completed his first parkrun and achieved his goal of running non stop and coming in at just over 30mins! His new goal of under 30mins has been set. I love seeing my clients achieve their goals over and over! 🤩
