On Thursday our team attended the Business Women’s Collective lunch. 💗

The day celebrated all women in business and aimed to raise money for the WA mums cottage.

The WA mums cottage aims to provide a safe, nurturing day service for women and their children across the Peel region.

The lunch was filled with strong and supportive women with exceptional food and drinks throughout the day.

WCA is proud to be a silver sponsor for the WA mums cottage, with the event raising over $6000 ⭐️💐

Our amazing team represented WCA last Friday at the 2025 Mandurah Disability EXPO.

It was a room filled with big hearts where our team met and spoke to some amazing people within our community.

It’s mind blowing to see all the creative, hard working and devoted people in this industry.

💙 National Carers Week is such an important reminder of the incredible strength and love behind every caring role.

We are so proud of the amazing team at RippleAbility for continuing to raise awareness and advocate for carers’ voices to be heard. Monique’s story is one that resonates deeply — we know many of our own families have faced similar challenges, balancing care, health, and everything in between.

💙This week is National Carers Week — and it’s personal.

In this month’s issue of the Medical Forum Magazine, Monique shares her story of being forced to choose between undergoing essential surgery or leaving her children without safe care.

It’s a story many carers will recognise. A reminder that behind every support plan, every medical appointment, and every NDIS application, there’s often someone holding it all together — and doing it without a safety net.

Through simple projects like making egg carton flowers 🌸, participants can explore creativity, develop fine motor skills, and enjoy the satisfaction of turning everyday items into something beautiful.

Crafting also encourages relaxation, reduces stress, and provides opportunities for social connection when done together. 🫂 Whether it’s painting, upcycling jars into colourful decorations, or designing handmade picture frames, every creation tells a story.

:🌱 Egg Carton Flowers

Objects Needed:

Egg carton 🥚

Scissors

Paint, crayons, or markers

Pipe cleaners, straws, or sticks for stems

Glue

Method & Instructions:

Cut the egg carton cups out individually.

Shape the edges into petals using scissors.

Paint or colour them in bright shades 🌸.

Attach a pipe cleaner, straw, or stick to the base as the flower stem.

Arrange them in a jar or vase for a cheerful handmade bouquet! 🌼
